"Mix? Mix, wake up, we're here." Earth gently nudged Mix's cheek. The sleeping boy swivelled and slowly blinked himself awake. In shock he quickly peeled his cheek off of Earth's shoulder where he left a big drool stain and looked around, seeing the others leaving their seats. The bus nap was way too short to his liking, but alas, they arrived to the desired destination and had to leave the bus. It's been week since their graduation ceremony and the celebratory party at school, but Mix was more looking forward to the trip their teacher has planned. When miss announced they were all invited on a volunteering trip to a village in mountains, many people groaned as they wished to go on their summer vacations to the beach instead, but Mix, Earth, and a couple of others quickly jumped on the opportunity. It's just a week in the mountains, but to Mix it seemed like the best thing ever, which also resulted in him not getting any sleep the day before their trip, as he was too excited to close his eyes. Them and ten other students got on a bus to Chiang Mai that took only a couple of hours, but Mix managed to doze off as soon as they set on the road, his face smushed against Earth who continued reading his book. "Do you want me to take your bag?" Earth said as they got off the bus and joined the rest of the group.

Mix shook his head. "No it's okay, it's not heavy." He said through a yawn, wiggling his back. The backpack was light, the instructions were to just pack a very few clothes as they'll be provided with towels and tents, so Mix only grabbed three t-shirts and two pairs of shorts, hoping it will suffice. "Okay everyone!" Their teacher clapped for attention. "If you'd like to eat something and looked around in town, feel free to, and let's meet here in an hour. It's..." She looked at her watch. "Just noon, so 1pm sharp, let's meet here. If you're late I'm leaving you behind!" She joked. It didn't take long for everyone to disperse and run off, exploring the little town under the mountain. Mix rubbed his stomach. He completely skipped breakfast and now he regretted it. "Do you have some snacks?" He asked Earth with big eyes, but his boyfriend patted his empty pockets and shook his head. Luckily they only had to walk a couple steps to see a pop up little noodle stand that smelled heavenly. Mix's mouth watered as they sat down to eat two big bowls and sharing a scoop of icecream. "There's a gift shop; wanna go?" Mix said, dragging his boyfriend there before he could even answer. "Look at this, I think it would suit you." Earth pointed at a shirt with traditional pattern and short wide sleeves. It certainly fit the vibe of this town more than Mix's Adidas top. His mom gave him enough spending money, but he wasn't gonna put it on right here. "I'll put it on when we get to the village." He muttered, stuffing the shirt into his bag.

"Are you going to Pha Pun Dao?" The cashier asked with a bright smile when Earth browsed other little souvenirs. "The children from the village made those!" She said, pointing at hand woven sachets Earth picked up with various names and pictures embroidered on them. Earth raised an eyebrow. "What are those?" He squeezed the small pillowy object with curiosity. "Fragrant tea sachets. They are a little rough on the edges, but the children made them with love and care." "Kids made these?" Mix quickly snatched it from Earth's hand and brought the sachet to his nose, inhaling the soft scent of tea leaves that only intensified when he rubbed the satchet a little. "Are these their names? Ayi, Khaonueng, Kalae, Meejoo, Inta?" Mix began picking up a couple more and smiling at the cute designs. They had hearts and sun and clouds and flowers and Mix picked one of each names to bring home, already planning where to put all of them. "Do you really need five?" Earth chuckled a little as he watched Mix stuff his face into them and take a deep whiff. The boy turned to him with very serious face. "I love them. Besides, I got one for my mom too. Come on, we better go before the others leave us, it's almost 1." He quickly waved goodbye to the pleasant cashier and the two joined their little group who was now accompanied by a man dressed in green camo uniform who introduced himself as Yod. He briefed them on how long will their journey to the village be, where can they sleep, and how they're all guaranteed dinner tonight. Mix was eager to hike and continued walking around with pep to his step, but it soon proved to be a disadvantage, walking too far ahead. The afternoon sun burned through the trees and his backpack started to feel heavy while his mouth felt dry and he began to get light-headed when suddenly...
