“Are you sure?” “Yes Mix.” “I mean, are you absolutely sure?” “Mix...” Earth rubbed the bridge of his nose, trying to prevent himself from feeling too frustrated. “For the tenth time. Yes, I am sure. I want you to move in with me. I’ll understand if you don’t want to, just tell me, but please stop asking if I’m sure. I wouldn’t be asking if I wasn’t sure about this.” He said with conviction. “I just...isn’t it a big step?” Mix bit his lip. “We haven’t even had sex yet.”

The corners of Earth’s mouth curled upwards as he grinned, wrapping his arms around Mix’s waist.

“Isn’t that an indication of how serious I feel about you? If sex was so important to keep relationship solid, we wouldn’t have been dating for almost four years now. So what do you say? Would you like to move in with me?” Mix swivelled when Earth’s voice whispered very close to his ear, causing him to blush. Even after almost four years his heart fluttered whenever his boyfriend got closer, but Mix felt a little worried, thinking their affection might decrease if they live together. But, he would rather chew off his own leg than live far again. “Okay. I’ll have to tell my mom though, or she will flip out.” “Actually...”

-----

“I really want to be mad at you right now.” Mix huffed when his mother pushed forward his last suitcase with a big smile. When he came home to tell her about the move, he has found majority of his things already packed and ready to go, as she knew. “Come on now, the room will always be yours if you come to visit and I left some of your things there as well. How about saying thank you?” His mom smiled, poking her son in the hip. “Thank you.” Mix fake pouted as he loaded the suitcase into the back of Earth’s truck and slammed the latch close. He sighed as he glanced towards his bedroom window, his old wind chime still dangling from the frame.

“Promise you’re okay with this?” “Oh honey.” His mother smiled, smushing his cheeks. “I’m okay. I want you to be happy, close to your work, with my future son-in-law. Just come over on occasion, and call me once a week, hm?” “I will.” Mix nodded, opening the passenger door. “Don’t forget, tomorrow we’re having lunch at the farm, so I’ll come pick you up at noon.” “Oh don’t worry, Mike will drive me.” “Uhm...who’s Mike?” Mix raised an eyebrow. His mother blushed.

-----

“What’s wrong?” Earth shook his head, droplets of water splattering around as he didn’t care for a hair towel after shower. Mix shrugged. He has finished unpacking his things into closets and drawers already, even placed a couple pictures on the walls and hung his hoodie over a chair, yet he felt strangely uneasy. His bathroom, his bedroom, his living room, he knew that now it was his house and that he shouldn’t be unreasonable, but it felt strange to be here. After trying out his newly attained bathtub with a long, floral scented bath, he did his usual skincare routine and waited for Earth.

“I... don’t know.” Mix admitted when Earth sat beside him, still wearing just a towel. Usually he would find it irresistible and a kiss or two would lead to them touching each other, but now it didn’t do the trick. “I’m just feeling a little uneasy.” He admitted as he stood up and handed Earth his boxers. “Don’t worry about it, I’m sure I’ll be fine in the morning.” “Hey...” Earth spoke softly. He took Mix’s hands to his own, gently kissing his knuckles before pulling him closer to bed and resting his face against Mix’s stomach. “Talk to me. What’s going on Mik Mik?” Earth kissed his tummy after slowly throwing Mix into the bed. The former city boy covered his face with both hands, shaking his head. “I don’t know. I just feel like I don’t belong here. It’s so...” “Sudden?” Earth gently removed his hands. “Yeah. I’m sorry, I’ll get used to it.” “No, Mix, I’m the one who should apologise.” Earth sighed and laid beside Mix, his arm wrapped around his boyfriend’s hip.
