Surprise, Surprise

He immediately pulled out his hand and opened the pouch. Then it shockingly made the Vice leaders on high alert. His eyes widen in disbelief and the students gasped upon seeing the contents of his pouch.

It was a symbol of a sea serpent wrapped around what seems like a coin. A very rare sigil, especially among the four houses of the academy.

The headmaster was at a loss for words for a moment. He couldn't believe what he just saw.

Immediately, he steps forward and he caught everybody's attention including the Vice leaders.

"Boy, what is your name?" he asked seriously.

Earth was startled and couldn't speak immediately as he felt pressure from the headmaster.

Sky witnessed Earth's reaction and saw the fear in him. He went next to him and took his hand and gave him a firm shake as they both stood side by side.

Earth looked at Sky with a smile and thanked him for supporting him. Then he looked straight into the headmaster's eyes and replied " My name is Earth Anderson".

The headmaster observes him more, then he faced the crowds.

This is an unprecedented case where a house that was not included in the four houses appeared.

"As you can see, we have four Vice leaders that correspond with the four houses and yet this Sigil doesn't belong to the current houses," he paused. Thinking if he should explain everything or leave out some pieces of information.

"What I can tell you now is that this Sigil does belong to this Academy, a long time ago. It was removed from the official houses for selection since the criteria to be selected is very stringent that out of a million students who came over the years of recruitment, not more than 10 people got into this house."

"I don't know if you are lucky or not Earth Anderson to be the Eleventh student in this house. To be selected from this house will be a challenge for you from now on. Remember that there are stages before you become a full-fledged member of this academy and this is just the first stage, the succeeding stage will be tough unlike the other houses, you can only count on yourself."

"But one thing I can assure you is that, if you successfully enter this house, then you can achieve unimaginable power."

"After the selection, you will come with me as I will show you the quarters for your house" he finished and went back to his place while waiting for the selection to end.

Earth releases a breath as he was holding it for who knows how long and can finally relax, for now.

He saw Sky next to him and couldn't help but plaster a smile.

"Congratulations! I knew you will be selected, it's just that you are a special one, should I be jealous?" Sky said teasingly.

"Thank you for making me feel that I really deserve to be here," Earth said in reply. "I know I'm going to miss you."

"You're welcome. I'll surely miss you too." Sky said happily.

They both embraced each other and felt comforted. While Sky went back with his housemates, Earth came in front of the headmaster as the selection continues.

After about half an hour more, the selection ended and house Amarok earned the largest recruit, second the house Bake-kujira, third House kelpie, and last the House Karkadaan.

When everyone got into their respective houses, the headmaster explained to them that they will be in one dormitory.

The dormitory has its own quarters for the respective houses. They will also be eating in one area of the cafeteria where everything will be provided for free as long as they are in the academy.
