As soon as I left my car, I felt the cold breeze cascading down my spine. I would be lying if I said autumn is my favorite season; however, I have to admit Seoul is beautifully decorated with colorful leaves falling from the trees. Unfortunately, my appreciation towards the current season ends there. I rush down the alley just to get to my office as fast as possible, considering my clothes consist of black trousers, a dark blazer, and a black long sleeve underneath. As usual, my jacket stayed at the police station. Opening the big glass door is a relief, thanks to the warm corridor I enter.

I didn't even make it to my office when I was stopped by my boss himself next to the cafeteria.

"I hope you remember about your newbie," Lin Kaun said, adding a third spoon of sugar to his black coffee. I swear someday he would die, and the cause will be this white powder he loves so much.

"Yeah, I remember. Is she already here?" I asked him, pouring myself a mug of black coffee. No sugar.

"She is in my office with her father by his side," he smirked, shaking his head.

When I heard I would have to "dandle" a newbie and take her everywhere I go while on duty, I tried to convince Mr. Lin Kaun to change his mind. However, shortly after, I got a call from my good, old friend Lee Jung-suk, one of the very respected lawyers in Seoul, that his daughter has just finished university and wants to start her journey in a police department. Remembering how many times Mr. Lee Jung-suk helped me when I was a newbie, convinced me that this is my turn to return the favor.

"Of course he didn't let her come alone," I let out, heading out to meet my first and I hope only trainee in my career.
