P o t i o n s

Lyra's POV

We stumble into Hufflepuff common room laughing, it's only day one and my Athena and I already landed ourselves a month detention.

Athena is my friend I met a couple years ago during the sorting. We immediately hit it off and we've been hanging out ever since.

"That," she says. "That was awesome!" Athena says bringing her hand up for a high five.

I laugh returning the high five. "Amen," I smile flopping onto the bed. "Thanks for letting me stay over, although I don't think your bunk mates will like it too much." I say looking around noticing the glares we are receiving.

Athena falls onto the bed laughing, and I can't help but think that moments like these are what makes Hogwarts so special.

Time skip, sponsored by a jealous Sirius

I bust through the large doors of the potions classroom panting as I put my hands on my knees.

"Sorry I'm late professor, got caught up in the stairs..." I say before looking up grinning to a chuckling Professor Slughorn.

"It's alright Lyra, have a seat next to Sirius for today." He says nodding towards the Gryfindor.

"Huh?"

"Sirius, dear." Slughorn repeats.

"No it's not that, but since when did Ravenclaw's share classes with the Gryfindors?"

"Since this year. The Slytherins have been getting in to many fights with them, yet seem to get along nicely with the Hufflepuffs," Professor Slughorn says before turning back to the board.

"Now, can somebody tell me what potion this is?" He asks pointing at the pearl colored potion.

I shoot my hand up at the same time Sirius does. "Wow, you actually know something," I whisper to him with a raised eyebrow and playful eyes.

"Lyra! Why don't you answer?" Slughorn says smiling fondly.

I look at Sirius before turning back to Professor Slughorn. "It's amortentia, sir. It is supposedly the strongest love potion in the world and is designed to smell like what attracts you the most."

"Very good! Ten points to Ravenclaw!"

"Now for your assignment I'll need you to recreate this potion to the best of your ability with the person sitting beside you," I look at Sirius with a playful grin.

"Let's see how much you actually know, my dear brother."

"Now sister dearest it's not what about what I know, it's about how we can beg Remus into making it for us." He grins back

"I like the way you think," I say giving him a low high five. "And by the way, call me sister dearest again and I'll cut off your fingers and feed them too you." I laugh as I skip over to Remus and James.

I know this is bad but I have been struggling with studying for a test I have tomorrow so like ya. Deal with it? That's all I can say lol. Anyways what do y'all think?
