"So you're telling me you woke up in some random appartment, alone, and you lost all your contacts except for your family? Then, after some thinking, you realized something was wrong so you asked random people on the streets if they knew you and that's when we bumped into each other.
- That's pretty much it, yeah," he took a sip of his coffee but then he made a weird face as he swallowed. "I also forgot how to speak Korean, as if I had just moved from Australia.
- Oh, right."
All of this was weird. Ajax wasn't lying when he said he didn't know them, after all. Now that I thought about it, I kind of felt bad for unplugging his computer... But that was not my main concern, since I was having coffee with the Lee Felix, because I'm the only one who recognizes him now.
"Are you planning on doing something about all this?" I asked, trying to make the conversation go further.
"I want to find the other members, but first I gotta learn Korean again because if I can't speak it fluently, I'm done.
- If you want to, I could help you with that.
- Sure, but it's going to take a while for me to learn. I hope it doesn't bother you.
- Of course not! I will do everything I can to help you get your members back together. I know the context is fucked up and that might be really stressful, but I'm positive all this will have a happy ending, no matter how long it takes.
- Thanks a lot, uh...
- Gab.
- Thanks a lot, Gab," he smiled at me and I did it back to him.
We talked some more to get to know each other better, because even though we were both concerned about what was happening to us, we needed some distraction.
Before we got up to leave, we exchanged numbers and told each other to keep ourselves updated about Felix's learning journey and if we ever found a member.
"Get back home safe, text me if you ever need something," he put his hood back on his head as he got ready to walk away.
"The same goes for you. Have a nice day," I waved at him and he waved back with a smile before we both turned to different directions.
Something in me was telling me he wasn't actually going home as he said, but that was not my buisness to know. Right now I had to find out what my life was like here.
°°°
I can't believe I am unemployed. This can't be right. There's no way I don't have a job. Does that mean Ajax pays the rent for me?
Ajax is in some kind of big dancing company, I actually don't know how he managed to get in. I'm going to have to ask him if I can see him dance sometime. Apparently he does hip hop, which does make sense by the way he dresses and the music he listens to.
I also found out that mom is dead here, but that doesn't really bother me. She was probably shitty here too.
Right now I was sitting at the kitchen table, my head was resting on top of my arms. My laptop was still on, but I wasn't using it anymore. It was only 4 o'clock, but I already wanted to go to bed for the night. I did not go however because I had questions to ask my brother.
I had to wait for about another 30 minutes before I heard the door click and Ajax came in, tossing his shoes away and putting his bag down. He walked in the kitchen and stopped as he saw me practically lying on the table.
"Your fever hasn't gone away?
- I don't have a fever, but I won't tell you what I have because you would kick me out.
- I always want to kick you out anyway," he sat on a chair in front of me and he shut my laptop down. "What's up?"
- You know how I was talking about Stray Kids this morning, well I met one of the members on the street.
- How can you meet one of the members if the group doesn't even exist?
- It does, trust me!" I then thought about what I just said and decided to play it safe. I couldn't tell Ajax about parallel universes or whatever my situation is. "They're just really underground."
Ajax put his palm on my forehead and out of tiredness I did not move away, he would find out I'm totally okay like this anyway.
"I don't know what's wrong with you right now. I've never seen you this confused before.
- Could I come to one of your dance practices someday?
- Woah, that's a new one," he raised his eyebrows, looking quite satisfied with what I just aksed.
"What do you mean?
- You've never wanted to see me dance before.
- Well now I do, I guess."
He sighed before patting my shoulder while standing up. I hid my face with my arms and stayed like this for a little while until I heard the shower running and that was when I finally decided to get up and leave to my bedroom.
I took the time to close my curtains and when I lay down I checked my notifications on my cellphone; Felix had texted me.
He was only asking if I was back home. I said yes and thanked him again for the coffee. I giggled thinking back about the faces he made while drinking, I still don't get why he forces himself to drink that if he doesn't like it.
Since Stray Kids didn't exist anymore, I played some BTS album on my CD player and quickly fell asleep, as if I didn't have anything to worry about in life.
