"Willow, you better finish my makeup now, I still have to manage my hair." I snip, agitated that I had to get up today. My hair had already been flat ironed, but I needed to style it.
"You almost look white!" I glare up at Willow and they laugh, before spraying my face with setting spray. It's been a while since I had a full face of makeup and I looked almost alien to myself. Like I was happy.
"Merlin. I do not want to do this! I'm being forced to sit and dine with a bunch of rich assholes who openly bully my family, and hate people for being poor. Gods!" I exclaim, storming into the bathroom to finish my hair and then put on the dress I chose to wear.
It's elegant and floor length, white sleeves billowing and cinching at the wrist, black ties in bows to hold the dress on my shoulders. It was beautiful. And meant for better things than the Malfoy manor, but whatever.
I put my hair in an elegant bun, putting my bangs in a roller and curling some pieces I left out. It's messy yet elegant. I catch the sight of my (definitely illegal) tattoo and sigh before performing a concealing spell on the hibiscus to hide it for the night.
I walk out of the room and grab the dress from my bed as Willow searches through their many shoes for the 'perfect pair' of heels. I tried to insist on plain black and then they held a finger to my mouth before completely ignoring my protests.
I stepped into the bathroom and closed the door, leaning on it for a moment. Nothing felt real. Why couldn't I live a normal life?
I shake my head and begin to change. The dress felt like luxury against my skin, and I felt like I was going somewhere much nicer than I was for a moment.
A loud knock rang through our room and I rolled my eyes. I took my time while listening to Willow annoy the shit out of Draco before walking out and putting on the heels they had finally found.
By the time I looked at Draco I could tell he was surprised.
"Well? Don't we have... Like two minutes?" I say, impatient. He seems to jump from his frozen state before scoffing and walking over to me, portkey in hand.
"Bye! Have a wonderful time." Willow said, a fake smile on their face. I rolled my eyes at them and then we began to dissipate from the room. Most found apperation to be overwhelming, but it was fine for me. I didn't even stumble as we poofed to the front of the sunny manor, unlike Malfoy.
I begin to walk up the stairs to the front doors, Malfoy trailing behind me closely, hand hovering over my back. I do my best to ignore him as the door begins to open without me having to knock. Rich people.
"Master Draco. Ms. Weasley." A house elf greets us at the door and I look down and let a smile spread on my face.
"Hello!" I say, waving a bit.
"Master Lucius is in the study, and requests that you wait in the hall for him." I nod and make my way into the manor. My heels echo on the marble floors and I walk with no hesitation, forcing an air of confidence.
I glanced around without losing awareness, studying the hall while remaining aware and slightly tense. I recognized that they were wealthy, but this felt too wealthy. The walls were a light shade of green and the marble was black and gold, shining from how clean, with a white carpet in the middle of the room. It felt far too empty, lifeless.
"Draco. Ms.Weasley," I force myself to not flinch at the sound of the man's voice, instead turning to face him, but not too quickly. Calm and collected on the outside, shitting and crying and throwing up on the inside.
"Ah, Mr. Malfoy. Pleasure to meet you formally, sir," I say, putting on a light smile. Putting on a show. I held my hand out for a shake and he looked almost in pain when he took it, not wanting to look rude. Hm.
