SHAUN STARED AT her, eyes wide and still breathing hard. Mina looked at him expectantly, suddenly finding herself angry beyond reason.
Katy rushed over to them as police cars started showing up, their loud sirens ringing in Mina's ears. The smaller woman reached out to Shaun, shaking him. He turned to her, still not answering Mina's question.
"Shaun. Hey. You need to tell me what the hell's going on. What were you doing? What happened?" Katy asked urgently but Shaun shook his head, still silent.
Katy turned her attention to Mina, reaching a hand out and grabbing hers.
"You. What the hell were you doing? Why did that guy call you an Avenger? What was all that fighting?" Katy asked and it was Mina's turn to be quiet. "Someone has to tell me what the hell is going on!"
"I'm an Avenger!" Mina exclaimed, her heart beating fast in her chest and Katy stared at her. "I'm-I'm Kitsune."
"The fox ninja? With the katanas?" Katy asked and Mina nodded.
Katy regarded her for a moment before laughing hysterically and just as suddenly, stopping and studying Mina. "Bullshit."
Mina sighed, crossing her arms. Katy stared at her for a beat longer, than ran her hands through her hair.
"No. Nope. No." She said, starting to pace in small circles. "Nope. Cause you would have told me, right? You would have told us?"
She motioned to herself and Shaun and Mina bit her lip.
"Well, he knew, but I couldn't tell you. Confidentiality." Mina stated and Katy shook her head, laughing hollowly.
"But I don't know what his thing is." Mina nodded to Shaun, trying to keep her tone even and not harsh, like she initially wanted to.
Katy and Mina both looked at Shaun, who looked back and he seemed to have collected himself a bit.
"I need to get to Macau." Was all he said.
"What? Why? What's in Macau?" Mina asked.
"Those guys are going after my sister next, and I have to get to her first." Shaun answered and Mina balked at him. Sister? Sister?
Katy seemed equally confused. "You have a sister?"
"Look, I know this is confusing. I'll explain it when I get back, I promise." Shaun sighed, rubbing his temple.
