"I'm so sorry," You breathed out. "That was out of-"
"Get up, now. I'll meet you in the lobby of the hotel." He said as he kept his eyes on you.
"What?" You asked softly.
"I won't repeat myself again. Go. Now." He said as the waiter wandered over. Kotaro turned his attention away from you and smiled as he thanked the waiter for the meal and requested the bill.
You didn't hesitate a moment longer, getting up, and walking out of the restaurant. You sat down in a chair near the front desk of the hotel; you nervously bounced your leg to the melody of the grand piano that was playing near the entrance of the restaurant but still flooded the first floor of the hotel with its tune. You admitted the feelings you've had for him and the dirty things you've thought about him publicly. What were you thinking? He's such a respectable figure in the community with a family and had anyone been listening you would come across as if you were a mistress. A shameless home wrecker. The rumors would spread like wild fire. You felt the buzz you had at dinner start to fade away as you waited patiently for Kotaro to come out of the restaurant. What felt like an eternity later you watched as he made his way out of the restaurant. He tucked his hands into his pockets, his blazer lazily throw over his shoulders as he made his way over to the women behind the front desk. You straightened up and tried to fix yourself to be more presentable but felt your stomach sink when he didn't even look at you. Instead flashing a smile to the hotel clerk asking if there was any rooms available before placing a card on the counter. You leaned over slightly to see the women behind the counter tuck a strained of hair behind her ear. Her cheeks were dusted with the lightest shade of pink and you felt your eyebrows furrow at the smile she gave him before looking down at her computer screen.
"Let me check sir." She playfully said and you couldn't help the way the jealousy coursed through you.
He wasn't even yours so what gave you the right to get jealous over this interaction. If anything you should realize this is just how he is with everyone, nice, and he just has that effect on people. You quietly huffed as you continued to watch her flirt with him every now and again looking over at him to see that smile still on his face.
"It looks like we have a few rooms available tonight. We have a few rooms with two queens, and one with a king." She said as she continued to type.
"The king is perfect." Kotaro said.
"Then I'll set you up Mr. Bokuto." She said.
Did he really need to get a hotel room to ridicule you on how stupid your crush was on him. You sighed to yourself knowing he'd scold you before leaving you in the hotel room to sleep off the buzz and the ridiculous fantasy you have come up with. You looked up to see the women slide him a golden card key and mumble something you didn't quite catch. He turned and started to walk towards a set of elevators at the far corner of the lobby.
"Let's go Mrs. Bokuto." He said as he looked over his shoulder briefly, then turned around.
You quickly got up from the chair as you pass the front desk, you looked over to see the women staring at him then at you. Your glare made her avert her eyes to her screen as continued to follow after Kotaro. You watch as he pushes a button and stares up at the light above signally that the elevator was heading down to the lobby. Once the elevator door opens you both step inside as he presses another button that lights up with the number eight. The silence is almost deafening as you looked to see your reflection in the elevator door; you can see Kotaro's reflection and he's looking down at the golden card the clerk had given him.
"I'm so sorry." You offer up again.
He said nothing and you both stood in silence once again as the elevator beeped periodically letting you know you were on a different floor. You knew how this would play out; he'd yell at your for admitting such feelings, fire you, and tell you to catch a cab tomorrow once your mind is in the right place. You were sure he didn't want to spend another second with you even if the car ride back to your school wasn't too far away. Despite knowing he was upset at you he still spent the money to get you a place because he didn't want you behind the wheel; he was just that nice. You nervously play with the hem of your black dress shirt as you were prepared for the lecture you'd receive. You knew you would you'd spend the rest of the night crying while you looked for another job. Of course you'd call Aya to tell her the events that had transpired and you could already hear her now complaining about the fact that you actually told someone else about your crush. That you told him of all people. You jumped at the ding of the elevator that ripped you from your own thoughts. Kotaro wasted no time exiting the elevator as he made his was down the hall way. You followed closely behind and watched the way he moved gracefully to the room. Despite all that has happened and what was about to happen you couldn't help but admire him. He abruptly stopped at a hotel room that was numbered eight fifteen. He raised his hand up to the lock and pressed the card against it, it beeped with a green light indicating that it was unlocked. He stood to the side and held the door open for you to walk in first. The dark, cold hotel room was more inviting then Kotaro's presence was at the moment and you almost welcomed the darkness swallowing you whole. It didn't last long however, and the further you walked into the room it triggered the automatic lights to came on throughout the large space. As the door closed you had to stop your jaw from falling to the floor with how breath taking the room was. The bed was pointed towards a floor to ceiling window that overlooked the city. The different paintings throughout the room were some of the worlds most recognizable works of art. You almost questioned if the pieces were actually the real deal with how authentic each one looked. Before you could look around the room anymore you felt Kotaro's hand snake around your jaw and pull your attention to him. His expression was bleak and for the first time you were uncomfortable around Kotaro. The anxiety was eating away at you and all you wanted was for it to be over with.
