Helena sat at her desk, trying to concentrate on her writing. She had always loved to read and write; it was a passion that had been with her since she was a child. However, today, she couldn't seem to focus on anything other than her struggles with her eating disorder.

It had been almost a year since Helena had decided to take the first steps towards recovery. She had started seeing a therapist, attended support groups, and tried to make healthier choices. But, despite her best efforts, it was a constant battle. The voice in her head that told her she wasn't good enough, thin enough, or pretty enough was always there, nagging at her.

As she sat there, lost in her thoughts, she heard a knock on her door. It was Lily, her younger sister, who had come to check up on her.

"Hey, Helena, what's up?" Lily asked, noticing the look of distress on her sister's face.

Helena shook her head, trying to hide her emotions. "Nothing, just trying to get some writing done."

Lily wasn't fooled. "Helena, I can tell something's bothering you. What's going on?"

Helena sighed, knowing that she couldn't hide from her sister's intuition. "It's my eating disorder. I feel like I'm never going to fully recover. It's a constant battle."

Lily sat down next to her sister, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I know it's hard, but you've come so far. You're doing great."

Helena looked at her sister, feeling grateful for her support. "Thanks, Lily. I appreciate it. But, it's not enough. I need more help."

Lily nodded, knowing what her sister meant. "Have you talked to your therapist about it?"

Helena nodded, feeling a sense of shame wash over her. "Yeah, but I feel like I'm failing. I'm not making enough progress."

Lily squeezed her shoulder. "You're not failing, Helena. Recovery is a process, and it takes time. You've made progress, and you'll continue to make progress. You're stronger than you think."

Helena felt a tear roll down her cheek. She knew her sister was right, but it was hard to believe it some days. The voice in her head was so loud, so persistent.

"I just feel so alone sometimes," Helena said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lily wrapped her arms around her sister. "You're not alone, Helena. You have me, and you have our family. We love you, and we'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Helena hugged her sister back, feeling a sense of comfort in her embrace. She knew that her sister and family loved her, but she also knew that she needed professional help. She needed to talk to her therapist and create a plan to get back on track.

"Thanks, Lily," Helena said, wiping away her tears. "You always know how to make me feel better."

Lily smiled. "That's what sisters are for. We're in this together, okay?"

Helena nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope in her heart. Maybe today was a hard day, but tomorrow was a new day, and she was determined to face it head-on.

As Lily got up to leave, she reminded Helena about the band practice that evening. "Don't forget, we have practice at 6 pm. We have to be ready for our gig next weekend."

Helena had almost forgotten about the band. Lily and Jake had formed a small group a few months ago, and Helena had joined in on the keyboards. Music was another one of her passions, and she loved being a part of the band.

"Right, I almost forgot," Helena said, smiling at the thought of playing music. "I'll make sure to be there."

Lily gave her a knowing smile. "Good. I think it will be good for you to get out of your head for a while and just play some music."

Helena nodded, feeling grateful for her sister's words of wisdom. She knew that music was a powerful tool for healing, and she was looking forward to the practice.

Later that evening, as they all gathered in the basement for practice, Helena felt a sense of excitement in the air. Jake had set up his drum kit, and Lily was tuning her guitar. Helena took her place at the keyboard, feeling a sense of calm wash over her as she began to play.

For the next hour, they played their hearts out, experimenting with different sounds and melodies. Helena felt a sense of release as she played, as if the music was a conduit for all her emotions. By the end of the session, she felt lighter, more energized.

As they were packing up, Jake turned to Helena. "Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something."

Helena looked at him, curious. "Sure, what's up?"

Jake hesitated for a moment, then spoke. "I know you've been struggling with your eating disorder. And I wanted to let you know that I support you, no matter what."

"Thanks, Jake," Helena said, feeling grateful for his support. "It means a lot to me."

Jake nodded, then continued. "And I also wanted to tell you something else. I'm gay."

Helena felt surprised but also relieved. She had suspected that Jake was gay for a while, but it was nice to hear him say it out loud.

"Thanks for telling me, Jake," Helena said, smiling at him. "You know that I support you too, right?"

Jake smiled back. "I know. That's why I wanted to tell you. You're one of my best friends, and I trust you."

Helena felt a sense of warmth in her heart as she hugged her friend. She knew that despite all their struggles, they were all in this together, supporting each other through thick and thin. And she knew that as long as they had each other, they could face anything that life threw their way.
