The next few weeks were a blur for Helena. She was trying her best to recover from her eating disorder, but it was a difficult and often frustrating journey. She was seeing a therapist once a week and had started attending support groups, but it was hard to break the cycle of negative thoughts and behaviours that had consumed her for so long.

On top of that, the band had a big gig coming up, and Helena was feeling the pressure to perform. She loved playing music, but the thought of being on stage and in the public eye made her anxious.

One day, as she was sitting in her room reading, Helena heard a knock on the door. It was Lily.

"Hey, I wanted to talk to you about something," Lily said, sitting down on the bed next to her sister.

Helena put down her book, curious. "What's up?"

Lily took a deep breath. "I know you're struggling right now, and I want to help. I was thinking that we could do something together, just the two of us. Something to take your mind off things and help you feel better."

Helena felt a sense of warmth in her heart at her sister's words. She knew that Lily had always been there for her, even when things got tough.

"What did you have in mind?" Helena asked, smiling.

Lily grinned. "Well, I was thinking that we could go on a road trip. Just you and me, exploring new places and having fun. What do you say?"

Helena felt a surge of excitement at the thought of a road trip. She had always loved travelling, and the idea of getting away from her daily routine was enticing.

"That sounds amazing," Helena said, grinning at her sister. "Where should we go?"

Lily shrugged. "I was thinking we could start by visiting some national parks. Maybe Yellowstone, or Yosemite. And then we could see where the road takes us."

Helena felt a sense of adventure stirring in her soul. The idea of exploring new places and experiencing new things was just what she needed to break out of her funk.

"I'm in," Helena said, smiling at her sister. "When do we leave?"

Lily grinned. "How about next weekend? We can rent a car and hit the road."

As Helena and Lily hit the road, they made sure to pack all the essentials they needed for their adventure. They had a map, a tent, sleeping bags, a cooler filled with food and drinks, and plenty of warm clothes for the chilly nights. They also made sure to bring their guitars so they could play music by the campfire.

Their first stop was at Yellowstone National Park. They hiked along the trails, taking in the stunning geysers and bubbling hot springs. They also saw some of the wildlife, including bison and elk. Helena felt a sense of wonder and awe as she took in the natural beauty around her.

Next, they headed to Yosemite National Park, where they climbed to the top of a mountain and watched the sunset. The view was breathtaking, and Helena felt a sense of peace as she gazed out at the vast expanse of mountains and forests.

Along the way, they also stopped at small towns and explored local shops and restaurants. They met interesting people and heard fascinating stories about the places they visited. They also bonded with each other, laughing and sharing stories as they drove through the countryside.

One night, they found a secluded spot by a river and set up camp. They built a fire and cooked dinner, then spent the night playing music and stargazing. As they sang and played, Helena felt a sense of joy and freedom that she had never felt before.

As they continued their journey, they passed through the Rocky Mountains and made their way to the Pacific coast. They visited the beaches of Oregon and California, feeling the salty ocean breeze on their skin and letting the waves wash over their feet. They even went surfing one day, which was an exhilarating experience for Helena.

One of their most memorable experiences on the road trip was when they stumbled upon a music festival in the desert. It was an impromptu event, with musicians and artists setting up tents and stages in the middle of nowhere. The festival-goers were a mix of hippies, artists, and free spirits, and everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Helena and Lily felt a sense of freedom at the festival, as if they could be whoever they wanted to be without judgment. They danced and sang with the crowd, feeling alive and connected to something greater than themselves. They even played a few songs on their guitars, and the crowd cheered them on.

As they drove back home, Helena felt a sense of gratitude for the experience. She had learned so much about herself and the world around her, and she felt more connected to her sister and friends than ever before. She knew that there would be challenges ahead as she continued on her journey to recovery, but she felt more equipped to face them now that she had this adventure under her belt.

When they arrived home, they were greeted by Jake and Oreo, who had missed them dearly. They spent the evening catching up and sharing stories, and Helena felt a sense of contentment knowing that she was surrounded by people who loved and supported her.
