Once upon a time, there was a kingdom where the people lived a very contented life. The king of that country ruled it with a very good heart. One day, the king decided to accompany his people on a journey. He decided to travel by foot so that he could interact with his people. The people were so happy to have a conversation with their king. They were proud that their king was so kind and good-hearted.

After several weeks, the king returned to his palace. H was very happy with his people. However, he had one regret. He had a terrible pain on his feet as it was his first trip by foot to distant places. He called for a meeting with his ministers and told them that the roads were very stony and painful to walk on. He said that he was very much worried about the people who walked along those roads. He felt that it was painful for them to walk on the stony roads too.

The king then ordered his minister to cover the roads of the whole kingdom with leather so that people would feel comfortable waking on them. His ministers were shocked to hear of his order. It would mean that thousands of cows would have to be slaughtered to get the sufficient quantity of leather. It would cost a huge amount of money too.

One of his ministers had another idea. He suggested that the king have pieces of leather cut in appropriate shapes to cover his feet. The king was very much surprised by his idea. He thanked the minister for his brilliant idea. He then ordered for a pair of leather shoes to be made for him. He also requested his people to make comfortable shoes for themselves.
