Y/N's pov

I sit in the cafeteria, zoning out as Nara tells another one of her tall tales. Her stories always seem to get a bit grander each time she tells them, and I can't help but roll my eyes at her exaggerated version of events. At least Ren is there to keep her in check and add some much-needed realism to her stories.

"So! There we were, in the middle of the night..." Nora starts

"It was day." Ren adds. "We were surrounded by Ursai..." Nora continues. "They were Beowolves." Ren adds. "Dozens of them!" Nora continues. "Two of 'em." Ren adds.

"But they were no match... And in the end, Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of Lien selling Ursa skin rugs!" Nora says confidently.

As I continue to drift in and out of attention, Ren speaks up, "She's been having this recurring dream for almost a month now."

Banshee laughs, "Maybe you should get her checked out?" but the joke falls flat. Everyone remains silent, feeling the uncomfortable tension in the air.

Pyrrha notices Jaune staring lost in thought and asks, "Jaune? Are you okay?"

Jaune snaps out of his trance and responds, "Huh? Oh, yeah! Why?"

Ruby chimes in, "It's just that you seem a little...not okay."

Everyone stops their distractions and focuses on Jaune as he holds up a thumb and bursts out laughing until his attention is drawn to Team CRDL, who are mocking a girl with brown rabbit ears. Cardin is laughing at her and Sky Lark is holding his hands to his head in a mock interpretation of her unusual features.

Pyrrha speaks up, "Jaune, Cardin has been picking on you since the first week of school!"

Jaune tries to play it off and says, "Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... he just likes to mess around! You know, practical jokes!"

"He's a bully." Ruby says.

Jaune scoffs, "Oh, please! Name one time he's 'bullied' me."

They proceed to list off times Cardin has bullied Jaune. As they do, I can't help but feel sympathy for the bunny girl who they are bullying. Suddenly, she speaks up, "Ow! That hurts!" She stops struggling and grimaces, "Please, stop..."

Cardin continues laughing as he turns to his cronies. "I told you it was real!" One of the other members guffaws with his teammates, "What a freak!"

I grab my broom Trash no Sweep, and walk over to Cardin and his team. "Hey Cardin! Leave her alone," I say, my hand clenching the broom handle.

Cardin looks at me before bursting out laughing, catching the attention of everyone in the cafeteria. "What are you going to do? You gonna sweep me away?" He laughs again, "Don't you have a floor to mop?"

Cardin's words don't faze me, I ignore them and warn him once again, "Leave her alone, or we're going to have a problem."

Cardin isn't fazed by my threat and runs at me, punching me hard in the face. I am sent flying towards team RWBY and JNPR, my broom falling out of my hands.

Everyone stands up, concern etched on their faces as they see the state I'm in. Banshee puts a hand out to stop the others, and they see my devilish grin. I stand and take one step towards Cardin, a determined look on my face.

Banbanshee says, "Shits about to go down."

3rd pov

As y/n's foot lands on the ground, the aura surrounding them explodes into a dark red mass, engulfing everything in its path. Cardin takes a step back, clearly startled by the display of power. As y/n approaches, their grin grows larger and their voice begins to take on a demonic presence.
