Macaque felt himself getting thrown back. He grunted as ice cold bone of all things fell from his hand. "What the?" A wave of fire washed over him, drawing his attention to a young human girl wreathed in arcane flames. To his side he heard Wukong. I thought I was in a forest?

"I was too late." The king growled. He looked different. Wasn't he wearing a tiger skin?

"Wukong? What's going on? Where did the circlet go?" Macaque was lost. He could have sworn he and Wukong had just been fighting, but he was uninjured. "What happened to my clothes?" The taller monkey looked over the other. "What are you wearing? Why is that girl on fire?"

Wukong ignored him, running over to a human boy attempting to run into the flames. "Meer water cannot extinguish the Samadhi Fire." Nezha spoke up, glancing at the boy. He freed the trapped pig demon and water demon. "Nothing can. The fire will destroy the girl and burn everything in it's path."

"What?" Multiple voices cried out. Macaque looked around confused. Everyone looked so different, except Nehza. Sha Wujing was massive and had some sort of blue cat on his head? Zhu Bajie was actually wearing clothes correctly. The monk had hair?

"You!" Wukong roared at Macaque. The sage slammed into the taller monkey, hand wrapping around his neck. "You ruined everything!" He pushed the ebony monkey into a wall.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Macaque protested, trying to escape his friend's unyielding grip. "What did I do?" His body flinched away from Wukong when the king raised his fist.

"Don't play dumb, Macaque!" The shorter monkey hissed, fury in his face. Macaque shook as an oddly familiar sense of terror raced through him.

"Is this about the monk?" Macaque asked, desperate to calm his friend. The shorter monkey had never turned his anger on him like this before. The angriest he's ever been was when he attacked that monk. "I didn't hurt him that much. Way less than he was hurting you." I was only trying to help him. He didn't need to... to. What did he do?

Wukong's grip slackened. "What?"

The monk in question called out. "Stop! It was me! I mean, yeah Macaque forced me to do it."

Macaque blinked at the rambling monk. "I what?" Wukong sent him a confused glance.

"And I'm definitely starting to have second thoughts on the whole thing now, but... I don't know how and I don't know why, I just felt like I had too... like it was... destiny." The monk looked over at the girl, fear and concern plain on his face.

Wukong released Macaque. The taller monkey fell back against the ground with a grunt before stumbling to his feet. "I'm missing something." Macaque mumbled to himself, eyes darting between the monk and Wukong. He was too busy noting all the strange differences around him to see Wukong giving him a suspicious glare. "Weren't we just fighting? How did we get here?" His tail wrapped around his leg and he glanced down at his strange clothes.

The human boy burst out. "I hate to interrupt, but can someone explain what is going on? What's happening to Mei?" Macaque keeps an ear on the conversation as he takes a closer look at himself.

The ebony monkey patted down the strange clothing. "Why do I look like Wukong dressed me?" He mumbled, pinching the shirt. He froze. Something was wrong with his vision. "What on earth?" He reached a hand up to his face and brushed his hand over a glamour. Frowning, he pulled it off, stiffening when his fingers brushed over a large scar. "How the fuck did I lose an eye?" He quickly checked for anymore glamours, noticing the one over his ears was still up. He nervously poked at it, releasing a sigh of relief to find all six ears intact. There was another strange glamour over his arm and neck. Pulling it off he gasped. "What the hell?" His fur had been bleached bone white. "Okay. Seriously. What the hell happened to me?" A fiery explosion caught his attention. Wukong tossed the human behind him and was blocking the arcane flames from hitting the boy and Macaque.
