I feel like someone is watching me

We arrived at the beach to loud music and drunken screams.

"Okay so I am the designated driver for my car, and yall?" I said closing my car door and making sure to lock it.

"That would be me!" Pope said raising his hand

"alrighty, yall still good to crash at mine after?" having a house close to the beach and safe on 'kook' land I always offer up my house as I am the only one there during the first half of the summer.

"works for us" JJ said, with everyone agreeing with him.

We set up shop on one side of the beach leaving all our coolers and beach chairs in a space together, before splitting up to mingle. 

At some point in the night it was just Pope, Kiara and I talking near a table of beer pong, "I haven't seen the others in a bit, I wonder where they went" I said looking around 

"NO YOU SHUT UP!" I hear JJ's voice loud and clear

"I guess that answers your question" Pope said before jogging off in the direction of the noise. We ran after him, catching up only to see John B being held down face first in the water by Topper. 

"Stoppp Topper let him go!" Sarah was yelling 

I looked to my right seeing JJ stand up and pushing Topper over into the water, thats when Pope and I ran over to John B helping him up 

John Coughed until he was able to maintain a steady breath.

"What the HELL TOPPER?" Sarah yelled

"Are you mental? Were you trying to kill him?" I said 

"Hey girl, I don't recognize this isn't your fight" he responded

"It became my fight when you tried to drown my friend!" I retaliated.

that's when I got this feeling. you know that feeling where you are getting watched. that ya. I looked around but didn't see anyone looking my way so I ignored the feeling and turned my attention back to my friend. 

"Guys we should go" I said 

"ya, okay JJ come help me with John B" Pope said 

" Ha! Ya walk away like the little pogues you are" Topper responded 

I don't know what light went off in my head but I walked right up to him and punched him square in the nose causing him to fall back not expecting such force.

walking away following my friends I felt the same eyes on me until I was off that beach and in the parking lot. 

"Charlie!" JJ said catching my attention. "Sarah and Kie went for our stuff can you open the door for us?" He asked 

"Oh ya! Sorry" I said running over and opening the door to the twinkie.

We loaded up the car and rolled out, heading to my place a few blocks down the water line. 

-At the house-

I was in the kitchen with Sarah making Mac and Cheese for everyone while everyone else were chatting in the living room. 

"SO when did you and John start dating?" I asked making conversation

"A few weeks ago, it kinda started with an adventure that led to the most fun I have had in long time, and I don't know but mutual feelings were there after it." She said smiling

"Well that is very cute, he needs a strong independent woman in his life like you. Probably good your a kook to, that man was made for a Romeo and Juliet type romance." I laughed

"So what is the story with you? I only know what the group has shared with me. Kiara said you are half Pogue half kook?" she asked

"Ya! My dad fell in love with a Kook and from there built a name for themselves on both sides of the island. Surely you've been to The Beach Hut? I swear my dad said your step mum is a regular." I responded

"Beach Hut is your family? I love that place" She responded

"I'm glad haha, we should all go sometime! I am doing half shifts at Beach Hut this summer so I can definitely get you guys a discount" 

"Girls Lunch?" Kiara said joining in on the convo, "My mother would love it, me hanging on kook lands" She said making a face.

"It's a date" Sarah responded

The Mac had finished so we made 6 bowls and brought one each out for the boys.

"Oh god bless this Mac and cheese" JJ said

-later-

"okay so basement as usual, has bunk beds and a pull out, and I have a pull out couch in my room, up to yall to figure out sleeping arrangements" I said heading into the bathroom.

Walking back in my room I find Kie placing extra blankets on the pull out 

"Just us huh?" I asked with a smile happy to be boy free for once

"NO John B I choose the girls tonight!" I hear from down the hall

Kiera and I look at each other before breaking out into laughter.
