*knock, knock*
Wally grumbled as he opened the door to his room. "Hey Numbuh 5."
"Woah, you look awful!"
"Thanks, I know." He groaned. "Not tellin' me anything I don't know."
"Did you get enough sleep?"
"No... The sudden burst of adult activity has kept me up all night..."
Abby began to enter his room, which looked more like a gym than a place to sleep. She sat down on the edge of his fighting ring and invited him to come sit next to her.
"I see. Anything else botherin' ya?"
"I don't know," he sat down next to her, yawning as he did so. "It's hard to tell."
"Whaddya mean, 'hard to tell'?" She kicked her dangling feet around.
"I've been feeling something recently, but I don't know what I'm feeling. Kinda annoying, if ya' ask me."
"Is it bad?"
"Oh, no. No, it's a good feeling, but not know what the feeling is... Kinda annoyin', man."
"Is there any correlation between this feeling and someone or something?"
"Corre... What now?"
Abby sighed with annoyance. "Is there any person or object that happens to be around whenever you feel this way?"
"Numbuh 2 tends to be around, or on my mind at least..."
Abby gave him a smug look, having a strong feeling that her suspicions were right.
"Does anything happen to your body when you feel it?"
"It gets kinda warm... Like, when I'm angry. My face becomes real warm, and also red. But I ain't angry, I'll tell you that much."
She really wanted to laugh in his oblivious face, just because of how obvious his crush was. He didn't even know he was crushing. The boy was stuck in his own little world right now, and he couldn't comprehend "love" whether he wanted to or not.
She tipped her hat over her eyes. "Man, kid... You've got a lot going on."
"It's not like I'm busy!" He blurted. "Unless, of course, it's busy bein' cool. Which is hard work. Try it some time."
Abby put her face in her hands and let out a loud sigh. She didn't know what to expect from someone who takes any chance he can to praise himself. She wished she could praise herself like Wally praised himself.
"Sure... Whatever. Now, I need your help."
"I'm the right boy for the job!... Erm... What's the job?"
As she seemed to do so often around him, she sighed. "I need help organizing room 103."
"Eeeeew... Cleaning?!-"
"-Organizing, Numbuh 4."
"Same difference! Why didn't you get Mr. Mechanic to help?!"
"I did. He wanted you to help, too. He said it'd be nice to see you be organizing something for once."
Wally began to complain. Not about the organizing itself, but the fact that he knew he'd do it, just to impress Hoagie. He knew that he'd do more than he was asked to do.
"Are you gonna help or not? Numbuh 2 will be reeeeal disappointed if you don't..."
Wally couldn't stand Hoagie being disappointed with him. "Okay, okay. Just... Shut up, will you?!"
