Mauve and Jack sat in his car. A comfortable silence lingered in the air. Jack slipped his hand into Mauve's. They looked at each other with blushed cheeks and smiles.
"I wish you didn't have to go" Mauve whispered gently. Jack's smile faltered.
"I'll be back before you know it" He replied. The eye contact that was being shared gave Mauve butterflies.
"I hate to admit it but I'll miss you, Hughes" A soft laugh fell from the girls lips causing Jack's smile to widen.
"I'll most definitely miss you, Sterling" He says back. Mauve's cheeks flushed and she broke eye contact. Jack chuckled slightly.
"You get nervous easily" He mutters. Mauve looks back at him.
"You make it hard not to" She admits. It was now Jack's turn to blush. He rubbed his thumb across the back of Mauve's hand.
"You better be watching my games" He says.
"Hm, maybe" Mauve jokes in a dramatic tone. Jack jokingly glares at her.
"Of course I will. I'll wear the jersey and everything" She laughs out.
"You do look good wearing my last name" Jack says. Mauve slightly bites her lip to try and contain her flustered smile, but it did absolutely nothing to help. Jack brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it softly. Mauve internally swooned at the action.
"That was romantic" She says while giggling.
"I was feeling romantic" He says back while chuckling. Mauve checks the time and frowns.
"I gotta get back home. I have class in the morning" Jack noticed the solemn expression on her face.
"It's okay" He whispers to her. "I'll be back in a week" Mauve nods, but the expression doesn't go away.
Jack pulls her into a hug and rubs his hand down her back soothingly. They stay like that for a while before separating. They don't fully pull away from each other though. Their bodies are still creating warmth for each other.
Mauve's breath hitches as Jack's eyes dart from her eyes to her lips. He looks back up at her before slowly inching his face closer. His lips meet hers in a slow and gentle kiss. Mauve's body feels like it's on fire as she wraps her arms around his neck bringing him closer. Jack keeps one hand on her cheek as the other one trails down to her waist. They both smile into the kiss.
This moment was something that they both wish they could stay in forever.
