32. FACING THE TRUTH

It was morning and suddenly the doorbell went on. This was unusual. We don't have many friends or relatives here and this made me more conscious. Then again, the bell goes.

I went to the living room but Hyung beat me into opening the door and the sight made me surprised.

??: good morning. I am Kim Namjoon and this is my husband, Kim Seokjin. We are here to meet Kim Taehyung.

Hyung was dumbfounded so am I but he let them in.

RM: Hai Taehyung long time no see.

T: Hai. Hyung this is my oldest Hyung Namjoon and his husband jin and Namjoon Hyung this is Baekhyun Hyung

Suddenly small footsteps got their attention. He went to the baby and took her in his arms.

T: and this is my baby Kia.

There was a shift in the atmosphere and Baekhyun sensed it so he took his daughter from Taehyung's arm and excused himself from the room.

T: please have a seat guys.

Jin: is that your daughter Tae?

T: First of all, it is not Tae but Taehyung for you all and no she is not my biological daughter.

RM: Taehyung let me directly come to the point. Come back home Taehyungaa. It has been 3 years. We know you are upset with us but let us talk this out and live like before.

T: sorry guys. But I am having a beautiful life here and about coming back to Korea I have no plans and I don't think I will ever return in future. I have a beautiful life with my Kia here. Moreover, I don't want my past to show up at my doorstep to drag me back to that hell. Sorry guys but if you are here for that then you may please leave without spoiling my mood.

Jin: ok we will go back but before that, I want some answers from you then I will not return to trouble you.

T: What do you want to know?

Jin: Why are you not coming back to us?

T: I have had enough of that life. Waking up causes trouble. No happiness and above all no peace at all. But now I am happy with my small family and I don't want to spoil it with the shadow of my past life. That is why I let go of all of that, including my identity. Now I live a happy life with no worries.

Jin: So, are you and Baekhyun married?

T: what no. Byun Baekhyun, husband of Park Chan-yeol. I met them when I was nothing. Chan Hyung works in the countryside so he left for his work and will be back by next week. They give me a family who supports me without anything in return.

Jin: So, you are saying that we were selfish and loved and supported you for our selfish motives?

T: no Hyung. I never mean it that way but we were all obsessed psychos who just mistook obsession for love. We were crazy that we were just seeking our pleasure by destroying other's life. So, I left my craziness and left this peaceful life.

RM: ok we understand. then what about Jungkook? Do you have a responsibility towards him?

T: for him, I have already prepared his happiness. Just wait here.

With that Taehyung went inside and came back with an envelope and handed it to Namjoon.

RM: what is this, Taehyung?

T: This is what he needed the most. To have peace without my interference and hence I am responsible for giving him what he wished for so kindly deliver it to him.

With this rm opened the envelope but another set of documents also dropped from it.

Jin: what are these?

T: This is my apology to him. From now on he will be the owner of all my assets and money and I don't want anything about that, also this is for you. He handed another set of documents to Namjoon.

T: from now on I am not Kim. I am just Taehyung and I am dropping all my privileges as Kim. I have nothing to do with the Kim empire.

This was like thunderstruck the Kim couple. Jin and Namjoon started tearing up at the news.

Jin: Taehyungaa are you punishing us for not supporting you against Jungkook? If it is so, please don't do this. We know you are upset with us. You have full right to fight with us, curse on us or you can destroy everything you like but don't do this taehyungaa. We know we are at fault and you can give us any punishment for that but not this, please.

Seok jin kneeled and pleaded to Taehyung and on seeing this tae kneeled in front of him.

T: no Hyung this is not your punishment by my chance of forgiveness. I lived a life where I was fed on a golden spoon. I had everything on my single wish. You and my brothers fulfilled my every single request and that clouded my mind. I took everything for granted. I disregarded everyone and mercilessly played with everyone's feelings. I was blinded by my money and power that I thought the whole world was under me because I was a Kim. But when you supported jk against me I understood I am nothing without your support. When you began choosing him over me, I understood I am just nothing.

I left everything after I realised, I lived a life which gave me everything on a platter. But as I began living on my own, I realised I had experienced nothing. There is a worse life than I can even imagine. So, I began understanding what makes me happy and then I understood that my surname will not bring me that. So, I am dropping it and living my harmonious life. I hope you may understand the grounds for the decision. But even if you can't, I will not blame you. So please don't overlook the situation and live a happy life.

After the crying and consoling session Baekhyun invited the couple to have lunch with them. They were grateful to him for supporting their younger brother when they were not there for him. They were satisfied that Taehyung is no angrier than them but a little sad that he is drawing a line between them. after lunch, the Kim couple left the small house.

Next Day

Kim Mansion

S: So, he is leaving everything behind for his forgiveness.

RM: Yes, but I still hope he will come and tell us that he was pranking us because he was upset with us.

JM: So, what is your decision Jungkook?

JK: He gave you all your answers but not mine and I will not leave him till he answers all my questions.
