I finish putting on my mascara, taking one last look in the mirror. All black will either catch people's attention or keep me in the shadows where no one can see me. I'd almost prefer the latter.

I grab my backpack and go downstairs. Caleb is already in the kitchen ,very drowsily eating his cereal, not really paying attention to it. But what really catches my attention is the ample amount of blue that he's wearing.

"What's with the blue caleb?" I ask while grabbing a muffin.

"I read a thing on the Internet saying that blue helps you concentrate. And since we are going to a new school the attention will all be on us which is distracting, I thought I would test it out." he says looking at me.

"Well first;it's yellow not blue, second;don't trust everything from the internet, third;it's not working, you can't even pay attention to your breakfast. Good try though." I say while patting his back and going to my car.

I spent two years saving up money and finally got enough to buy my own car, so I have a black convertible Lexus.

While I'm driving, I plug my phone into the auxiliary, turning on Fall Out Boys "Save rock and roll" album. I can barely feel the base in my chair, the vibrations very subtle. I don't know when, but I start singing along at some point.

It's still summer so I have my roof down. I'm at a red light when a person from the car next to me catches my attention by yelling hey.

I look over and find a male with dark blue eyes, natural tan skin, and brown hair in a black civic. He's handsome.

"What?" I ask while looking into his eyes. this red light seems to be long.

"I just wanted to say you're really good at singing." he says with a small grin.

"Thanks, I try." I smirk along withe h his grin.

A car honks and I realize that the light is green.

I start driving and finally get to the school. Allegiant high.

I find a parking spot near the front and immediately claim it. I get out of the car and at the same time, the boy from the stop light comes out.

"Twice in one day already." he says while smirking.

"I guess so. You go to this school, that's cool." I say with a small smile.

"Well actually, this is my first year here. I just moved."

"Hey same here! Maybe we can help each other out." I say probably a little too excited.

"Sure. Well we should probably go and get our schedules and find our lockers."

I nod and smile and we start walking.

While we walk people stare at us. We just talk to each other and make our way to the office.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Four." he says after a small pause.

"Why a number?" I ask.

He smiles and chuckles a little.

"I may or may not have volunteered to be a test subject. I went into a simulation type thing to go through all of my fears and I only have Four."

I nod. "that's a bit...risky."

"Yep. But why not. I got money." he says.

I laugh and we walk into the office.

I look through the small pile of schedules and go to the letter p.

I look through it until I get to Beatrice Prior. I definitely am not going be Beatrice!

"What's your name?" He finally asks.

"Tris. My name is tris." I say confidently.

He smirks and we walk to our lockers. his is right across the hall from mine at 146 and I'm at 164.

"What's your first class?" I ask.

"Ummm... Math with Dr.Jones. you?"

I check my schedule. "math with Dr.Jones. okay then, let's get to it." I say.

We start walking and on the way I run into a girl with mocha skin and short brown hair.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! Here let me help you! Oh, I'm Christina." she says giddy.

We both pick up my books and stand up.

"It's fine and I'm tris. This is Four. We're both new here." I say while nodding to four.

"Wow this school is filling up more and more with hot guys." she mumbles.

We burst out laughing and she blushes, realizing that she thought out loud.

I think she will be a great friend. And four...who knows. it could end up being more at some point.

Children, I made this a year ago and tried to fix it, but I feel the need to finally post it so here you go. Now, I know a lot of it is kind of childish and cliche, but I really am struggling to fix it. Love you initiates!
