Chapter 13

Elena POV
Mystic Falls

   It had been a week since both Damon and Stefan left Mystic Falls to hide each of the Original siblings in dark corners of the world. Eric and Godric had left that same night the Salvatore Brothers left to scatter pieces of Klaus around the world, to keep me safe along with the world.

   For the past week I had been catching up with school and since my grades were already very good Alaric had pulled some strings so that I could graduate early.

   I was sitting in the testing room up in the guidance counselors office waiting patiently for my results to get back. As Alaric walked into the room with a smile on his face along with the principal of the high school they both looked to me.

    "Elena Gilbert we are happy to say you are a graduate of Mystic Falls High." The principle of the high school says with proudness in his eyes and I smile up at him as he hands me my diploma.

   "Thank you so much." I say softly smiling over at Ric.

   The principal smiles at me before leaving Ric and I alone and my step father pulls me into a tight hug. "I'm so proud of you Elena." he says softly before pulling away from me.

   "This is amazing, thanks Ric! I was able to graduate early because of you, I know I won't be able to walk with the class, but I'm just happy to be a graduate." I tell him and he smiles at me.

   "You can do anything you want with your life now I guess the real question is what do you want to do?" Alric says with a smile and I look to him as the though of Godric crosses my mind.

   "What I want is to go after my husband." I tell him before grabbing for my things and heading out of the office towards my car.

   I dialed Katherine's cellphone number and she answered on the second ring it's surprising to say that my Doppelganger and I had become quite close over the week Godric and Eric had been away.

   "So are you finally a high school graduate?" Katherine says in a chipper tone and I smiled to myself.

   "Yes I am and all I want is my husband so will you please escort me to him?" I ask playfully and she chuckles softly.

   "Why don't you get home quickly because that husband of yours happened to get here shortly after you left early this morning right before the sun had risen." Katherine says as I get into my car and begin to drive off excitedly putting the phone on speaker.

   "Are you serious!" I says excitedly as I turned onto the main road as the light was green and in the next moment I feel a car slam into mine and I lose control screaming in fear as my car begin to flip the last thing I heard was Katherine screaming my name repeatedly.

Godric POV

   I snapped awake at Elena's pain as did Eric from sensing my own pain. "ELENA!" I screamed out in agony as I felt her life slipping away slowly. "Nooo!" I screamed falling to the floor of my cubby room in her house.

   I was breathing harshly as I could feel my Mate's pain and her life slipping away I balled my hands up into fist Infront of me.

   "Godric what is happening?" Eric growled out in fear.

   "I can feel her slipping away." I growled out as I could also feel that the sun was still up. "I need to get to her I need to get to her." I repeated over and over In a daze lost in my Mate's pain, as I go to walk up the stairs of the cubby.

   I feel Eric pull me into his strong embrace as I felt my mate Die in that moment never to feel her again and in that moment I was truly dead.

Katherine POV

   After hearing the crash over the phone call I rushed to the car crash at vampire speed to see Elena's car about to catch fire so I rush to it pulling her out.

   she was near death if I gave her my blood she would die with it in her system she would come back to her friends, to Eric, to her Godric, to me. I realized all I wanted was the love that came with family and I had that with Elena and Eric so in that moment the scheming Katherine Pierce died and was reborn into Katarina Petrova once more.

   I bit down into my wrist feeling the blood rush out I slam my wrist over Elena's mouth forcing her to swallow my blood. She met my eyes with a soft look before her heart stopped beating for the last time.

   Elena Gilbert was dead and soon Elena Gilbert Petrova would be reborn.

   As I held my Doppelganger close to me my senses off due to the traumatic event I didn't hear the vehicles approach, I didn't feel my neck being snapped and I couldn't fight the ones who took me and Elena in that moment.
