Jester POV

We headed down the hall together, and no talking was done until I spoke up myself. "So...Are the kids usually rude?" I furrowed my eyebrows and looked over at him. He didn't look back and replied with a measly, "Not much. Sometimes, yes." I sighed and rubbed the back of my head. "So they're usually fine. That's good. What about that light blonde-haired kid? I think his name is Draco." He took notice of me talking about Draco and his face softened. Only slightly though. He spoke calmly; "Draco is one of the ones that can be quite rude. But I doubt that he means it to harm you. I would ignore it." When he was done, his face went stern again. I was left confused about why he went calm when I asked him about Draco.

After a while of walking down the hallway with Professor Snape I grew tired...and a little bit hungry. "Hey, Snape?" I quit walking, and he stopped, too. "Want to go to the Great Hall with me quickly? Only to get something small. My stomach is craving food like crazy!" It was true, my stomach could probably be mistaken for a motorcycle if the hall wasn't filled with the noise of me and Professor Snape's footsteps. "Well...I don't see why not.", He spoke and turned around to walk the other direction, when someone poked their head out of their quarter's doorway. It was McGonagall. She only just stared at us in a bit of shock then finally after what seemed like 10 minutes, asked a question; "What are you two doing together in the hallway? You guys did not get along at the opening celebration.", She crossed her arms and spoke slightly sassy-like. I laughed, and was about to speak when Snape interrupted me, "We were only talking about teaching, and how to deal with the students. Don't be suspicious of my actions, Minerva." I had stopped my laughter right as he spoke, and just stared at him for a few seconds. Then, I shifted my gaze quickly over at McGonagall. She just did a slight eyeroll and let herself back into her room.

Snape POV

What the hell? What is wrong with me? He was going to tell her anyway and I interrupted him. Now we look even more suspicious than before. I slapped a hand onto my forehead and turned around again to head to the great hall with him, before he took a hold of my sleeve. "Huh?" I looked at him, still, with my stern expression. "You didn't have to interrupt me, you know.", he laughed sarcastically, "Also, slow down. We still surprisingly have 34 minutes left of lunch hour!" He sounded happy to be around me ever since we started walking and talking in the hallway. I looked around him, concerned why he was being so kind to me when I was an asshole to him. What is your deal... No matter, we should head to the great hall. I'm decently hungry as well.

I slowed down my walking to match his pace eventually, and I couldn't get that ringing echo of his heels out of my ears. I looked down at them, noticing how tall they were for him being a man and all. "What's with the shoes?" I asked as nicely as I could, though it still came out harsh. Damn to my voice. "Oh! I really like how tall they are! And they're fancy, but very durable. I can do my- ...fighting in them as well!", He paused at the end, he was going to say something else. Fighting? That doesn't seem right for someone...his size. Oh well, most of the witches and wizards here can fight with magic anyways. Maybe he considers running away fighting. I laughed at that in my head.

Jester POV

Eventually we made it to the great hall together, and we both took our seats next to each other at the long professors table at the front. The food magically appeared in front of us both, and I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I then laughed under my breath and gained my composure again. Snape noticed though, and pointed it out, "You'll get used to it rather quickly." "Oh, really? I mean, it isn't scary or anything." The sarcasm in my voice was clear, and I gave him a look that screamed sarcasm. "Ha, sure. You got scared by a plate of food. Quite funny if I do say so myself.", He gave a sly smile from the corner of his mouth and proceeded to cut the food on his plate. What? He just smiled. And it's because he thought I was funny!? This was weird. I didn't say anything out of shock, and just proceeded to eat my food in the great hall...sitting next to the most bitter man in the world. One who just smiled at me.
