That girl was so beautiful.

She lit up my day even though she harassed me and laughed at me with the others. She was just...

She was special.

She made my heart pound but not out of fear... it was different.

Like... maybe someday she would swoop me up and save me from this purgatory that is high school.

And she would hold me close in my thoughts, not letting go...

In fact, her hand could wander... and wander... and-

Shit. No. This is a fanfic based on real people we ain't doing that shit.

There's no chance it would happen outside of my brain anyway.

She hates me.

----------

I approached my locker and unlocked it to grab my PE kit when I noticed a slip of paper flutter out onto the floor. Had I accidentally left my homework in here? I don't remember doing any recently?

I skimmed through the writing and noticed this was not my handwriting, huh?!

I read what it said and blushed furiously. Holy shit 'baby?!' My brain screamed at me. I've never had real friends before, let alone... a lover...

The bell rang to interrupt my thoughts, and I quickly slammed the locker shut. Stuffing the paper into my bag and rushing to the changing rooms in a flustered wreck.

When I walked in, I witnessed
Oh shit no. The worst thing about having a gay crush in High School.

You change in the same room.

I tried to keep calm, but five seconds later, I had grown faint and flopped onto the floor, just like after I got vaccinated.

The last thing i heard was screams, gasps, and laughs before everything numbed out into blackness.

----------

And when I woke up, I was in the medical room, sweaty, cold, and lonely. I sighed. Who the hell faints after seeing something attractive? That's such a dramatic scenario that only happens in anime and super cringey fanfics.

I shook my head slowly in disappointment and laid back again, at least now I can rest and not go to stupid class.

A bell rang loudly and startled me so much I nearly fell off the medical bed (which wasn't very stable as it is, God knows why they even have it anymore).

Elisha stormed in and shook me, "Holy shit what happened?! Did you bang your head?!"

I stared at her in confusion, "I'm fine, but did you...? You're never that nice to me without a motive?"

She shrugged and stepped back, scoffing, "Yeah. Yeah. You got me. Corban wants that money from the bet."

I laughed a little and then thought to myself. Shit. I forgot the money. Now he's gonna double it.

"So?" She raised a brow, her bag sliding off her back and into the floor. I couldn't think. She was the reason why I passed out.

"I-I don't have it." I admitted, looking down and preparing for the worst.

But then nothing happened, Elisha just laughed and slung her bag on her back, turning towards the door. "Well. He's now gonna be happy, but whatever, I guess."

"Hey! Wait, don't go!" I reached out and grabbed her arm. She looked confused, so I continued, "Do you know who sent me that note?"

Silence swallowed us for a long moment that felt like years, and then finally, the beautiful girl spoke.

"...Yeah I-"
