Making Beautiful Moments;
& They last A lifetime.Love Willows.
Duty, and a lack of respect, most families were held together by those two things, an obligation toward it because they were family and at some point you would need their help, respect was never given unless forcefully taken and half pint apologies were given after insults which led to more disputes, hatred and anger later on. So what made family special if everyone was just there to best serve their own interest.
It's why Love tended to stay away from the spot light of his family's attention but being in a family like his where his mother had done all the bad things she did in the name of love and honour for the man she had an affair with, —you can bet everything that he couldn't avoid them, no matter how much he tried.
So he sighed again looking at the dinner invitation which was resting on the kitchen counter like a viper waiting to strike him at any moment. "You need to go support her and your dad." The man who raised him, the one he truly acknowledged as his father stated with a slight smile. "I don't know, this dinner is a disaster waiting to happen." Love argued as a heavy yawn came from the stairs capturing his attention.
It was a man, —Love knew him as Marco, a friend of his dad's, and he had no idea that he had slept over at their house which was really questionable. "Morning liefde." Marco mumbled fixing his morning gown then pressing a kiss to Love's hair. "Morning Marco." A mischievous reply came from Love as he narrowed his eyes on his dad. "Not a word." The man mouthed toward Love and he raised his hands in surrender.
"Morning hartlam." Marco exclaimed toward Love's dad and Love immediately knew he intentionally used Afrikaans so that he wouldn't know what he said but Love wasn't stupid, since he learnt that Marco could speak several languages including his favourite, Afrikaans, he set out to know more, which is how he knew he had just called his father darling.
"Morning Marco." His father replied with a slight smirk and Love rolled his eyes, at this point it was obvious but he was going to play dumb until they came clean. "Oh what's the fancy invitation for?" The tall doctor with brown skin and chiseled features asked nodding toward the dinner invite which was addressed to Love from his mother. "Its a dinner invitation for Love, his mom wants him to attend a pre election shindig for herself and his dad, but he's reluctant to go." His father explained with a glint of satisfaction in his dark eyes, damn him for setting him up.
"I think you should go, despite how shitty family is, especially the ones that are like yours, they're still family, besides it's one night sweetheart, at the end you aren't stuck with them." Marco expressed rubbing his arm. "You'll be back here, with us, —ordinary people." Marco concluded earning a chuckle from Love, he knew he was right, when the night ended he wouldn't be stuck with them, he would leave.
"I get that Marco, —but it still doesn't feel right, I don't know." Love sighed as he finished his breakfast and moved to leave the kitchen.
"Darryl talk to your baby, I have a feeling this isn't about the dinner or his parents." Marco whispered.
"You're feeling guilty, —its them or us, her or me." Love's father exclaimed as he stood by the door to his room, a sad smile on his face as Love nodded, the man was right, Love was worried that he was choosing the Willows over his family, the people he knew wanted nothing from him just him to be happy. "I get that, but sweet pea have you realized that I could have easily rejected your offer to come stay in this gigantic house, refused to bring the boys here too." His father stated and Love knew he was right.
