A fairee tail

chapter 3

"Mother, do you have any of Aria's old clothes for Cassie?"

“Oh yes, I heard about her, I got a message from the elders, here dear I have clothes for you" and she gave me a head band and a short red dress, maybe a little out of my comfort zone, not what I expected but when I tried them on Noah and his Mum said I looked already like a fairee and when I saw my reflection I saw I hardly looked human anymore and I was rather pretty.

"Thank you" I say to Noah's mum and followed Noah out of the house.

"Why doesn’t she even have an accent?" I ask

"She was a human and she never learnt our language, that’s why I can speak your language as well as my own. My dad is a full Fairee." Noah explains "I talk English to her"

"Let’s start. Step one, how to fire a bow and arrow. First you need a good bow." He tells me and shows me a range of bows

"That one looks good" I point to a good sized, dark wooden bow with decorations carved in and painted red.

Noah smiles at me and says "good choice" and he gives me some arrows. "Try and hit the target"

I once went on a summer camp and did archery so I knew how to do it and I was quite good but that was 4 years ago so I’ve probably forgotten even how to hold the bow.

“Um how?” I stutter because the truth is I have forgotten everything and I wasn’t in a position to try and hide it.

"You hold the bow like this"he said and moved my hands into place I smiled at him in thanks and he smiled back before taking my hand again and showing my how to pull back the bow. It went quite well at first at least I could hold the bow and fire it at the end of the session I almost hit a bulls eye and Noah said I would be able to try a moving target tomorrow

"You will learn, I will teach you more tomorrow. Come I teach you to ride"

"I can’t ride a dragon” I start to say but I can't finish the sentence because Noah has picked me up, put me onto his dragon and we are now flying to a different cloud.

"Where are we going exactly Noah?" I ask nervously

"The dragon cliffs. Where else are we going to get you a dragon?" Noah shouts back as we plunge downwards. I scream and hold onto Noah even tighter but then it was over; we had landed. All around me, I saw huge beasts fly up or are coming down to land from being away hunting.

"These are what we call the free dragons, they don't have owners yet. You will know which one is yours because it will be your colour, you see Fairees have different colours depending on what type of Fairee they are. You and I are red because we are fire Aria, Jake my mum and dad are all air that’s why they wear white.

You have grey which is storm, blue is water, green is earth, silver is snow and ice, yellow is sun, white is air and of course red is fire! So you see yours will be the only red one that doesn't fly away." Noah finishes and gets off the dragon, I hop off as well, go stand by him and as he tells me what to do I quickly plait my hair.

"Ok, I'm ready to get my dragon" I mutter quietly and walk slowly towards the dragons where a couple are fighting wildly. As Noah said, most flew away accept one if each colour and I could see the red one; to me it looked the biggest and the prettiest and I could tell it was a girl, all I had to do was walk towards it and make eye contact with it because as soon as I make eye contact with it, it will be mine forever.

I ran at her and she backed away and started to whip her tail around, it almost hit me in the head once and just grazed me cheek. I whistled and she looked my way being careful not to look me straight in the eye and came charging towards me, I knew she was mine but first I had to get her calm and under control. I jumped out of her way but she came charging towards me again
