After clearing his head and having his bath, Yedam headed down to have breakfast and meet his so called family.
Upon his arrival to the dining section, a woman suddenly sprung up from her seat near a man, who he presumed to be his father, to embrace him tightly. She gave him a basket of Filbert flowers and offered him a seat next to the king, his father.
She went on to explain that she was his mother and the flowers which she had given him represent reconciliation.
After all the necessary introduction and explanation, he was finally allowed to eat. But luck wasn't on his side that day as another argument broke out.

" So this is the most sought after child that my parents neglected me for! "
"Ae-ri be quiet! Can't you see i'm having a conversation with my son?"
"

Oh! So i'm irrelevant right? It's always Yedam this or Yedam that! Can't you ever acknowledge me for once?"
"That's enough from you Ae-ri! Now seat down and be quiet!"
"It's like i'm not even part of this family! Why did you have me if you going to treat me like this?!"
"That's because we didn't want you! You were an accident or better still a replacement! You were never meant to be born but they convinced me to keep you for my reputation's sake."
"Alright wrap it up. Both of you shut the hell up.As for you Yedam, you will be provided with your schedule by your personal aide and the royal tailor will be here soon to get your measurements. Also, meet me in the throne room by sunset."
And with that he left.

Soon after he left, the maids came to clear the dishes since the king already left.
Later, Yedam met his aide and they had a tour of the palace. His aide explained that there are seven palaces.

The first one is the King's Palace. No one is allowed in unless they requested to or got an invitation. Only the oldest staff in the Imperial Palace are allowed to serve there. The same applied to the Imperial Knights.

The second is the Queen's Palace. The rules were similar to the King's Palace but with a little twist. It could only be accessed with an invite for the Queen herself.

The third is were the Royal Children stay. Only staff who had spent up to 50 years were allowed to serve there. Same with Guards. It's where he's going to be stay along with his younger sister.

The fourth is the Main Palace. It is a place that had all the important things a kingdom needs. It has the Throne Room, The Royal Dining, The Ballroom, The Central Room and so on. It is also a place to receive guests.

The fifth one is the Consort's Palace. The rules of this palace was decided by which ever consort residing there.

The sixth is a palace for visitors to reside in when ever there is an event happening.

The final one is where events are held.

After touring for hours, it was finally sunset. Yedam and his aide, whose name was Ju-won, made their way to the throne room. On getting there, they were shocked to find out that the king wasn't there, only the officials.

"Didn't my father say we should be her by sunset?"
"Yes, he did say that."
"Then why isn't he here?"
"Your father had something important to attend."
"What's so important that he can't keep to his words?"
"How i'm i supposed to know?"
"Aren't you my aide? Is this not your job?"
"My job is to guide in everything that has to do with the kingdom until you become king. Nothing more, nothing less."
"Well then, I want you to find out what father is up to."
"Uh no, no, no, i'm not losing my job and possibly my life over something as silly as that."
"Silly or not, you will still do it."
"I don't get paid enough for this..."

While Ju-won went to find out why the king wasn't in the throne room, Yedam used the opportunity to admire the beauty of the room he was in.
Gems were littered across the ceiling giving it an ethereal feeling and the architecture of the room was enchantingly beautiful.
Yedam thought of the smile his mother would have on her face if she was here to see this.

"His majesty is quite busy, but on the bright side you might be getting a new bodyguard."
"What?"
" There is a girl I think would be perfect for you. She is a real fighter. One would think she fought in a war before."
"How bad can she be, really?"
"You're too confident. She could tear down mountains with her bare hands if she wanted to and burn down villages with a single glare. Hell, the girl can topple entire kingdoms without breaking a sweat you know."
"Aren't you exaggerating just a little bit?"
"No Yedam! I saw her today at the contests while I went to find out what you asked me to, an-"
"What contests?"
"Oh you didn't know? His majesty is holding some contests today."
"If I had known, would I have sent you to find out what he was doing?"
"True."
"Which contest do you want to know about?"
"All of them."
"There's one for those contesting to be your bodyguard and another for those hoping to be your mistress."
"Why would I want a mistress when I don't even have a lover or a soulmate yet?"
"Oh yeah that reminds me, have you gotten your soulmate mark yet?"
"No. I don't want one. I can't possibly love one person for the rest of my life."
"I sure you will change your mind once you meet your soulmate. As I was saying, believe me when I say she can kill you with grace, elegance and beauty-"
He stopped abruptly and turned to look at the door. The room fell silent as all eyes fell on the door. It was her.
She looked enchanting. She fit the description that Ju-won gave him. There were scats scattered across her glowing skin probably from past battles.
"Yedam, meet Nanari. She is going to be your bodyguard from now onwards. You're to treat her with utmost respect even though she a human and on no occasion should you leave your chambers without her, got it?"
"And why should I? I never asked for one let alone a human. Look around you, there are vampires everywhere. Even if I do as you please what is the guarantee that the other including you will?"
"Yedam, behave."
"I won't listen to you. I never asked to be here anyway."
"Behave or I'll order for you to be thrown in the farthest part of the dungeons. "
"What's wrong old man? Are you scared everyone will find about your little secret?"
"Yedam, it's okay. It's not worth fighting your father for."
"Give me one valid reason as to why I should back down! Why should I be the one who has to back down? He's the one who's a two-faced monster!"
"That's it. Throw him in the farthest part of the dungeons with no food nor water!"
"How dare you?!"
"What so ever do mean my love?"
"Explain to me why you want to throw our son in the dungeons when we just got him back a few days ago!"
"Why don't you ask him yourself?"
"He's mad because I threatened to reveal his secret."
"Why would you do that?!"
"He started it!"
"Can someone explain to me what exactly is going on?"
"Yedam is mad because his father made decisions behind his back."
