Amara
Flashback
"Come on Amara the ice cream shop is gonna close soon!" Ashe says, pulling me on the sidewalk. We order our ice cream and go to our special bench away from the shop. "I made new drawings to put on our bench." Ashe says, taping drawings to the bench. I eat my ice cream watching her ramble on about how she's recently started coffee art."What about you Amara? What have you picked up?" She asks. "Oh uh the saxophone, nothing extreme. I'm in the arts club too." I say, shrugging my shoulders. "Hey Amara? I just wanted to say that you're the best friend I've ever had in a long time." Ashe says, smiling at me. I feel my heart flutter at her kind words. "Me too." I say, laughing a little.
End of flashback
"This is where I spent my childhood years with my bestfriend." I whisper, touching the walls of the shop. "We would spend hours here talking about what we would do when we grew up." I then walk over to the bench. "The drawings are here." I say, sitting at the bench. I spot a familiar name on the table. "Ashe..?" I read out.
Flashback
"Let's write our names on the table!" Ashe suggests. She gives me a marker and we write our names together. "Now we'll never forget each other. We'll be best friends forever." She says, holding my hand. I flash a smile feeling a wave of happiness.
End of flashbackI turn around looking at Ashe. "I..I remembered that girl. She wrote her name on the table with me when we were kids. She said we'll be best friends forever." I say, finally getting my memories back. "Ashe..she was you. You're my childhood best friend." I laugh softly jumping into her arms. "I knew you would remember this place." She says, putting me down. I stare into her eyes finally feeling at peace. I feel myself slowly leaning into her getting closer to her lips.
"Amara I..I love you." She whispers. We both lean in letting our lips touch. Her kiss was so gentle. So warm. And oh, the way she held me in her arms. How softly her lips guided in sync with mine. The way her hands slowly made their way to my face pulling me in more. She treated me like I was fragile. So gentle, so calm, so soft.
I finally pull away slowly looking into those beautiful brown eyes she has. "Woah." She says, laughing slightly. That beautiful sound. "I really missed you Ashe." I say, sitting by her at the bench. "I missed you so much more. I missed you so much that I started to search for you myself. I begged my mom to let us come back here." She says.
God, that look in her eyes when she looks at me. Ashe stops talking and just looks at me. Those soft brown eyes. Hues of gold. Dark like a forest, bright like a sunrise. "I've liked you since we met Amara. Yes, at 5 years old. I've always though you've had the prettiest smile and the prettiest laugh. God if only you knew how much I really adored you." She says.
I'm taken aback by her sudden confession. I feel myself starting to tear up at the affection. "You really mean that?" I ask, looking down. She lifts my head up making my eyes meet hers. "I meant every word from the bottom of my heart." Then again, those soft and delicate lips of hers meet mine. There she goes again, holding me like I'm her most prized possession. Her touch, the way she's holding me, like she's trying not to break me.
I feel her pull away letting her kiss linger on my lips. I sigh. "I've always liked your eyes. I see a dark forest with a honey brown sunrise. Full of golden hues. The way you look at me when I talk to you, It just makes my heart flutter. And the way you hold me, you hold me like I'm something extremely fragile. It's like I'm your most prized possession when you touch me." I say, feeling my cheeks slightly heat up.
"You are. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I never want to lose you. I barely survived when I moved. You're a true beauty, Amara. I really love you more than oxygen." She confesses. I hug her. "Thank you so much." I whisper. I then feel a rain droplet, then another. Soon, we're getting drenched in rain.
"Dance with me." Ashe says, standing up. "What?!" I say. Ashe pulls me to her spinning me around. I smile softly looking at her features. "You're beautiful." Ashe says, slow dancing with me. "Thank you Ashe." I rest my forehead on hers staring into her eyes. "I love you. More than you know." She whispers. "I love you too, Ashe." I say. Then again, those lips, those same beautiful delicate lips meet mine. That same touch lingers on my waist. Her soft but rough hands, pulling me into her.
But oh, her touch. Her eyes and her touch have competition. Those hands, so softly lingering on my body. The way she cups my cheeks making me kiss her more. The way her hands roam my body oh so slowly. I finally open my eyes being face to face with her. I'm met again with those same heavenly eyes. "You make me feel like I'm the prettiest girl in the world." I say, laughing slightly. "You're ethereal. You're so beautiful it hurts amore mio." She says, resting her forehead on mine.
"You're amazing." I whisper, tearing up at her words. "I mean all of this Amara. I really do." She wipes my tears kissing my forehead. "Thank you so much." I say. "Of course, Amara." She responds. As I look into her eyes while we slow dance, I start to think. I've never met someone who cares about me this much. Ashe really sees me as the prettiest girl in the world. She's so, affectionate. She doesn't hesitate to tell me how she feels about me. Her words, they just make my heart flutter every time. She's been like this forever, but she makes me feel like me. She's amazing.
She's perfect.
