A.N., before you get into this chapter, I just want to mention that this is another flashback scene, sorry not sorry. This just goes into Cedric and Raya's last interaction, as well as plays out why Raya fell out of her friendship with Cho.
Do be warned that this is in fact, FICTION, not to mention, FAN-FICTION, none of this is canon so please don't think that I hate Cho's character in any way, she's my literal queen!
Anyway, this is a shorter chapter, but I do hope you guys enjoy it, with that I give you.
The Regret
The harsh rain hit against the window in the Ravenclaw common room, it seems that only Raya and her friend Cho were the only sane ones to stay up this late and study for their upcoming exams.
Though Raya seemed to be studying less and less, as thirty minutes had now passed by, and she was yet to make any progress in finishing the chapter she had started for her History of Magic, class.
It had only been a week since she found the truth of her mother's death, and it has visibly taken a toll on her.
Her three closest friends, Harry, Hermione, and Ron had noticed right away, and although respectful they are of the girl's private life, they do wish to know what has suddenly changed the girl's personality.
Her best friend though, Cho, was demanding to figure out what was causing her best friend to be down. "I think we should call it a night," said Cho as she started gathering all her books into her bag.
Raya, who was still staring down at her book, hadn't registered what her friend had said. Worried by this, Cho once again asked, "Are you sure you're, okay? I mean I understand if you want to keep some things to yourself Ray but come on. I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything!"
It was indeed true, she could tell her everything, but this time she chose not to. She knew if the news was out, she would treat her differently, they all would teachers included.
She didn't want to hear their pity apologies, or better yet have people stare at her and whisper, 'her mom was tortured by Lord Voldemort himself.' Only because she was still processing it as well.
"Don't worry about me," she yawned, "I guess with this whole tournament, I've become more warry for Cedric, and well for Harry as well."
"Don't be!" Cheered Cho, "Both Cedric and Harry are two of the most powerful and intelligent wizards I know, you have nothing to worry about."
Satisfied that Cho had believed her answer, she too started to pack her belongings. "Yeah, yeah I guess you're right, why would I have to worry about them?"
⚡️⚡️
Standing by an empty corridor, Raya tried her hardest not to pull out her wand and jinx her own best friend.
It seemed that Cho too was surprised to see her standing there, her cheeks turning pink, as she hoped she hadn't witnessed anything.
"What the hell was that back there?" Sneered Raya as she got closer to Cho, who didn't dare meet eyes with her.
"W-what are you talking about?" She said as she looked down to the floor, "I'm talking about the little moment you seemed to have had with Harry back there, I'm talking about the kiss on the cheek you just happened to give him!"
Cho's head shot up, looking around the corridor hoping that no one else was with them. "It didn't mean anything, it was just a friendly kiss, that's all."
Raya laughed at this, "Oh a friendly kiss you say? Well, how about we go find my dear old brother and see what he thinks about this friendly kiss!"
Cho was more so frightened to see how happy she looked as she said this. "Raya please, just let it go."
