11 - Syn

I sat up, hearing Sera's voice. "Sera?" I called Alex and he sighed, "You heard her voice too, didn't you?"

I heard him call Sera throughout the house, "She's not here. Something happened when she took a shower."

I showed up to his place and he let me in, "Do you think the Rebellion got her?"

"..I don't think the Rebellion got her, I think Kallen herself came for her."

"Let's go then." I nodded and I opened a rift to the Rebellion compound, but it was in shambles. "..Wha..?"

"We leveled it." I felt a dangerous chill. A Destroyer official stared us down, he stood next to Hikari and Sylvana. "..Seraphine is missing." Hikari's eyes flickered, "..So she did make her move after we leveled this place. She's cunning." Hikari looked at me, "You two have the greatest bonds with her. Reach within yourselves to try and reach her."

I closed my eyes and reached to the depths of my mind, searching for Sera. My eyes flashed and I saw her for a split second, "Sera!" She looked up from wherever she was, "..Who's there?"

I gripped the threads of the vision, trying to hold it open, "N-NO!" It snapped away and I woke up. Alex's face was twisted with resistance, "She's alive..but different. I can't..reach her at all!" He slammed his fist on the ground, "Damn it! What did Kallen do to her!?"

"It's possible her ability of total obedience evolved into more than just that and Kallen used it against Sera. Sera's Aura ability is still at a novice level, but if the Rebellion gets Sera back on their side, this war will get dragged on even more."

"Then we'll find her." Alex looked to me, "Are you sure? We don't even know what we're getting into."

"That's the fun part!"

I opened my eyes and Alex was holding his arm and we were under attack by a Rebellion Predator, "So that's how we got here.." He groaned, "Are you done reminiscing about our situation!? We have our lead on Sera and we need to follow it!" I saw a flash of scarlet hair, "Sera!?" She pinned me against the wall. But it wasn't her. "Nope." She headbutted me, "..Tricked ya!" She faded into the Rebellion Predator. I groaned and slammed her backwards, "..Ever since Sera stole my fucking blade I haven't been able to do SHIT!" My fist drove into her face and she got slammed into Alex who used his ability and she was face planted into the ground. Alex pinned her down, "Where the hell is Sera? We know your Ace took her from us." She grinned, "..Sera? Never heard of her." Her aura bubbled and I slammed my foot onto her head, "..We know you know her, you were the one who tortured her with your blade aura." She smirked, "..Smart pair you two are. But chasing after Sera will only cause you two more harm good than good!"

She threw us off, floating up. "But fine. If you seek my former apprentice, I'll tip in to see the chaos that ensues..especially if it involves that bitch Kallen."

"What's wrong with Kallen?"

"She acts entitled and keeps Sera under lock and key. Her Highness even struggles to see her."

"So Sera is within the Rebellion?"

"Of course, but under Kallen's direct oversight. I don't know where she is or what she does. Your best bet is to somehow get a tab on Kallen."

I looked to Alex and he sighed, "Finally a decent lead." The Predator smirked, "Kallen regularly attends meetings at our compound, but it'll be hard to get in." She tossed us a chip with the information.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because Sera was supposed to be our star, out in the open and destroying people like you Destroyers, instead she's locked away with only one person able to succumb to her beauty and power."
