[GIYYU POV]

Rewritten Chapter:

As Shinobu entered the room, a wave of relief washed over me. Sanemi would be alright, albeit with a headache, but he would be fine. Now that the immediate situation had passed and Rengoku had arrived, I knew it was time for me to leave. I yearned for a moment alone, a chance to visit the lake where Rengoku and I used to spend our childhood days. It had been far too long since I had the time to think of him in solitude.

Arriving at the lake, I hoped that it wouldn't be crowded. It had gained popularity over the years, especially as a romantic spot for couples. However, I couldn't bear the thought of navigating through a sea of people. Lost in my thoughts, I snapped back to reality and decided to push forward.

To my relief, there were only two individuals present—a middle-aged man and a young girl, around fifteen years old, wearing a school swimsuit. Perhaps she had a swimming scholarship? As for the man, he exuded an unsettling aura, the kind that made you wary. Though he hadn't done anything overtly inappropriate yet, it was evident that his presence made the girl uncomfortable. Helplessness gnawed at me, knowing I couldn't intervene without justifiable cause.

I settled down, attempting to relax, but my instincts screamed that something was amiss. Closing my eyes, I embraced the tranquility of the surroundings. Suddenly, a splash broke the stillness, indicating that someone had dived into the water. I assumed it was the girl, as the man seemed unlikely to possess such agility. Minutes later, a piercing scream shattered the serenity.

"GET OFF ME!"

My eyes shot open, locking onto the scene before me. The man had invaded the girl's personal space, his intentions clear. Rage ignited within me, fueled by a righteous fury. Without hesitation, I lunged forward, seizing him by the neck. Water cascaded from his hands as fear enveloped his features, his feeble struggles akin to a desperate fish out of water.
