The room felt heavy, the atmosphere was tense, no one knew why, but the meeting between Rias' and Eztli's eyes made everyone feel uncomfortable. The tension was palpable, so, naturally there was one to break it.
“She's beautiful!” Quetzalcoatl cried jumping towards Rias just ti pinch her cheeks “Isn't she cute Eztli?” The named one just kept his eyes on his fiancee.
“Well, we met her, let's go” Was all Eztli said, then he turned towards what he had recognized as the exit, this shocked almost everyone in the room, with the exception of the female red hair, making the rest share a single thought “They're engaged and yet he doesn't show any kind of interest in meeting her?!”
“Eztli, wouldn't you like to spend some time with cute Rias? After all, she's your future wife” Quetzalcoatl had a sweet tone, maybe the sweetest the devil's had ever heard, but Eztli knew that tone very well, it was her "do it or I'll beat the crap out of you" tone, with nothing left to do, he let out a heavy sigh.
“Come on” He spoke to Rias with a tone cold, calling her like if she was some kind on dog, this had done nothing but angered the devil, one had the courage to speak up.
“Hey! That's no way to talking to the President!” Issei, being incredibly fast, put himself infront of Eztli, just then he realized the height difference between the two on them. Eztli had to look down to see Issei's eyes, this difference, along the action in general, caused Eztli to smirk.
“Look what we got here” Eztli said in a playful tone, he then bend over a little to be face to face with Issei “What are you going to do about it? Are you going to fight me?” Issei noticed how Eztli's eyes gave a little spark when he said "fight" so, instinctively he took a step back and activated his Sacred Gear, making the red emperor gauntlet appear, and without intention, he also let out some magical energy, making Eztli surprised, just to then laugh “Ohohoho, Quetzalcoatl look” He took Issei's left arm and raised it “We've found one of your species, another dragon!” Quetzalcoatl looked a little uncomfortable with this childish like actitud, but she didn't say a thing “You must be strong to have a dragon locked up like that” Eztli got closer to Issei with every word, looking more and more exciting “Come on, fight me” Now, the little spark Issei had saw was a raging fire in Eztli's eyes.
“He won't fight you” A male voice echoed throughout the room, flames surrounded Issei and Eztli, then, a tall blonde male appeared behind Issei, it was Riser “I will”
“Riser! What are you doing here?!” Sirzechs and Rias cried at the same time.
“I'm here to save you my darling” He said with a flirty tone walking towards Rias “You see, a little bird told me about your reunion with your brother, and the terrible news it carried, now you're forced to marry this savage” He looked with a derogatory look “So, I propose this, a Rating Game for Rias' hand!”
“A Rating Game?” Eztli asked confused, but no one answered.
“That cannot be possible” Sirzechs interceded “He doesn't have a peerage, he even isn't a devil” He had enough with one guy marrying his sister, but having another one wanting to? That was over the line, and, being honest, he didn't wanted for Rias to get married, but that was an issue for later.
“Ohoho, so you aren't only negating me, a high class devil, but you're marrying her with this low being? How ridiculous!” Riser mocked, taunting and rasing Eztli's anger little by little.
“In that Rating Game, can I beat your ass up?” Eztli step up.
“You can try, but a low-life like you... Heh, I doubt you can even scratch me haha!”
“I'll do it” It didn't matter that they only knew each other, Eztli already hated this guy.
“Huh, who knew? Low-lifes have balls, how cute” Little by little, Eztli's patience was running out. Issei, who was the closest to him, saw in the corner of his eye how a snake tattoo became visible in Eztli's arm “I'll give you a week to prepare, maybe that way you will entertain me” Said Riser disappearing in fire.
Everyone got quiet after that, no one knew what to say. Soon enough steps began to be audible, almost everyone turned to see Quetzalcoatl walking towards Eztli, whom stayed still. Just as she reached him, a loud noise could be heard, it was the palm of Quetzalcoatl hitting Eztli's neck.
“What in the five paradises are you thinking?!” She screamed before Eztli could complain about the hit, while grabbing him by his hair “We're here to establish a good relationship between our cultures! Not to start a fight!” She was clearly mad “I'm sorry Sirzechs, this boy is really hot headed, is there any way we can fix this?”
“I'm afraid that you cannot back up” It was obvious that Sirzechs was measuring carefully his tone and words “I must recommend you fulfill this Rating Game, to show you our goodwill I will lend you one of our houses and terrains to train, in fact, Rias and her peerage will go with you to teach and train you on the Rating Games” The intentions behind the last statement were clear, he wanted for Rias and Eztli to spend time together.
“Listen redhead, we don't need your charity...”
“We'd love that! Thank you!” Eztli was quickly silenced by Quetzalcoatl. Eztli gave a mad sigh and looked at Rias who didn't seemed pleased as well.
“Well, let's go” An enormous red symbol appeared beneath all of the people on the room, soon they were gone.
And like that, the longest week of their lives had begun for the soon to be couple.
