1. bad luck
"pl–please let me go! i won't te–tell anyone! i swear!" the woman's lips quivered as she softly begged, tears running down her face.
the woman flinched when her back touched the wall, her nails chipping against the brick.
"why–why me?" she choked out, as the pocket knife shined under the moonlight. black dots spotted her vision, as she slowly slid down onto her knees.
"i hope... you rot in...hell..." she whispered, her eyes fluttering shut on that thursday night.
"soobin! soobin! choi soobin!"
guess he's not at home.
beomgyu slowly threw on his sweater as he switched the television on, as he grabbed the salmon lox bagel that he had bought the previous night.
"breaking news! another murder has occurred raising the count to six in the last two months. this time a woman in her late thirties, lee sae-ryeom was found with her throat and radial arteries on both wrists slit. we are looking forward to see what daegu metropolitan police are going to–" beomgyu watched his best friend report the "hot scoop" of the day.
"–with that, this is your news reporter choi soobin who will come back with more breaking news shortly." beomgyu switched the television off as he scrambled to get to work.
that explains why he wasn't home.
choi soobin is a journalist specialised in criminal action and the local news reporter in daegu. he's beomgyu's roommate and best friend of six years. beomgyu had heard hurried footsteps shuffling around the house at 4am but was too delirious and sleep-deprived to go out and see what soobin was up to at that ungodly hour.
fuck, i left the iced americano on the counter.
beomgyu sighed to himself, praying that he somehow manages to get through the day without his daily intake of coffee. don't get him wrong, he loves to teach the children but sometimes they were just energy sucking mischievous little devils.
"good morning beomgyu-ah! soonyoung had taken a leave today and since you're the only other teacher teaching the same grade as him, the children from his class will sit in on your lesson, if you need anything hoseok is in the next room, he will help you out!" seokjin smiled from the reception booth.
"okay i'll try my best hyung!" beomgyu bowed slightly before briskly heading for his classroom.
it was just his bad luck but he's heard soonyoung praise his class too many times to count so he hopes that his bunch of students are really that well-behaved.
beomgyu took in a deep breath before put a wide grin on his face as he peeked through the door.
"beommie hyung!" loud, cheerful chorus of voices called him.
beomgyu slowly made his way to the middle of the room, slightly nervous from how there were twice the number of faces than usual looking at him with curiosity and excitement.
"good morning everyone! to the new children here, i'm beomgyu hyung!" beomgyu smiled.
"good morning beomgyu hyung!"
"beommie hyung good morning!"
"morning!"
a chaotic ramble of greetings reverberated within the classroom.
"alright let's settle down! since there are many of us here two people will have to share one table so partner up and sit together!"
an arm shot up in the air with a small "beommie hyung".
