It was a long day today, and Xander Matthews was very exhausted. There was a test today, P.E. was somehow exhausting too in some way, AND he's thinking about doing something tomorrow.
What is that something, though?
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and Xander was planning to confess to a certain inspirational speaker whom he looks up to after school. Xander had realized his feelings for David Chiem long ago, and he decided to gather up his courage to finally tell the inspirational speaker his true feelings towards him.
The thing is, David seems to be walking home alone today. From what Xander would recall, David doesn't usually walk home. He'd usually just take a taxi or just ride a vehicle in some way, but for some reason, that's not happening today.
Out of pure curiosity, the rebel decided to approach him. "Hey, Mr. David!" He greeted, walking up to David's side. The inspirational speaker noticed this and immediately turned his head to look at Xander. His face showed one of surprise for a moment, before it was quickly replaced with a warm smile on his face. "Hello, Xander. You really don't have to call me 'Mr. David', by the way."
"A-ah-! Right...Sorry!" Xander stammered nervously, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. David chuckled at that. "It's no big deal." After he said that, the two fell silent. It was a peaceful kind of silent as they both walked side by side together through the sidewalk, enjoying each other's company in some way.
It then became...too awkward. "....Uh, anyways! You're walking this time, huh?" Xander asked. "Yes, I felt like I wanted to walk home today. I didn't have anyone else to walk with me, though, so I just went with walking alone....But that's until you came." David explained, nodding his head to Xander's question.
"I see...." Xander muttered, before he suddenly stopped walking. Noticing this, David stopped walking too and turned to look at Xander, a confused expression on his face. "Xander? What's wrong? Why did you suddenly stopped?" He asked, tilting his head a little bit.
...
"I'm gonna confess to you on Valentine's Day after school, so be prepared!" Xander suddenly shouted out of the blue. David was taken aback by this, his eyes going wide after hearing what the rebel said. What does he mean by 'confess'?!
As in...confessing his LOVE?!
"Eh?" That was the only thing that could come out of David's mouth. He tried saying something again, but then Xander opened his mouth.
"You're free after school, right?"
"Uh, yeah."
"So wait for me!"
"Okay..."
Xander chuckled, putting his hands on his hips with 'pride and joy' written all over his facial expressions. He then glanced at David, but then noticed the inspirational speaker's red face. God, he looks like a tomato right now!
"Wait, why's your face all red, M- Ahem, David?" Xander asked, and David flinched at the rebel's voice suddenly being heard. "A-ah...Well, because you basically already confessed to me, Xander...." He answered, covering his blushing mess of a face with one of his hands, glancing at something else.
As soon as David said that, realization hit Xander a bit too hard. "Ah!" Xander yelped, his face also going red eventually. "...Forget I said anything then." He added, covering the lower half of his face with one of his hands too.
They both stood there in silence, not knowing what to say and just trying to process the information of Xander's indirect confession. It was long, like the silence during their walk earlier. It's embarrassing to Xander.
'Shit...! I made a complete fool out of myself infront of Mr. David of all people! Embarrassing! Absolutely embarrassing...!!!!'
"By the way, Xander." David's voice finally pulls Xander back to reality. "Oh! Uh, um, y-yeah...?" Xander asked, slightly glancing back at David. "Um...I feel the same way about you." The inspirational speaker said, and at that moment, the rebel felt like he's going to pass away any second now.
'SODNWKDMSKEMDKDMDKDMD WHAT THE FUCK?! HE LIKES ME TOO?! WHAT...?!'
Silence came in again for the THIRD TIME TODAY. It didn't lasted too long, however, since it was broken by a light-hearted laugh from David. Xander turned his head to fully look at the inspirational speaker. "So expect me to give you chocolates tomorrow on Valentine's Day. It's like what you told me about your confession tomorrow, right? 'Be prepared!'" David said, before chuckling again.
"O-oh...H-hey...!" Xander whined, not exactly pleased by the fact that David said the exact same thing that he said earlier. However, he ended up laughing too in the end.
Xander Matthews kinda fucked up his confession plan, but at least he won David Chiem's heart either way.
