Aiden POV
Beep! Beep! Beep! "Aiden, wake up! Today's your first day of class!" Kathleen squealed. "Alright, I'm up!" I shouted excitedly. Kathleen ran out the bedroom as I began to change. I'm so nervous, though. This is my first day of school at the McAndrew campus. There's McAndrew High School, Pacific Coast Community Charter School (my school), and Martin Luther King, Jr. School. 3 schools in total! Kathleen goes to Pacific Coast, but she's in the High School department. There's a middle school and a high school. "Hey Aiden, if you don't find me around the building, I'm probably going to be at the Campus Quad for the 5 Seconds of Summer special appearance for the school's fundraiser. I'm going with a girl in my math class, Eliana! Alright?" Kathleen asked. "Okay. I'll probably be too busy trying to make friends anyways," I responded. "Don't be so down, you gotta pick your head and keep on trying!" Kathleen hollered as she left the room. Let me finish getting dressed. Then I'll go brush and get a ride with Luke to school...Luke POV
Aiden just asked me for a ride to school. You better believe I'm going to give him a ride. But he'll need to hurry. I'm about to leave and catch up with Zimbala. She's been super pissed that I haven't been giving her rides. Plus, I have to talk to John. I have something really important to tell him. "Luke, honey, come down here!" Liann said. I run downstairs and see William, my social worker, at the door. "Good morning, Mr. Morris," William said. "Hey, William. What brings you here?" I asked. Liann looked super excited. As did Robert, who just came into the foyer. "Luke, we have something to tell you!" Liann stated. "Am I in trouble for something I didn't do once again?" I asked. "No, Luke. Robert and I are wishing to adopt you. William is here to bring us the adoption information for you to read. Certain things you can't do in the Foster Care System will be allowed for you to do now. And things ACS could do to you before your adoption won't be able to happen to you anymore," Liann explained. "Kathleen, come down for a second!" Robert said. Kathleen slid down the banister. "I didn't do it!" Kathleen hollered when she saw William. "You didn't do anything, as far as we know. We just wanted you to help Luke study the information on his adoption tonight, if that's fine with you?" Liann explained. "I actually have plans, but I assume I can reschedule!" Kathleen said. "Perfect! Kathleen, we'll meet up here at the house around 5:30, I have something to do first!" I said. "Alright, it's planned. I can do what I needed to do, too," Kathleen said. Aiden then walked in as William left and Liann and Robert went over to the kitchen. "Luke, are we going?" Aiden asked. "Um, yeah. Let's go!" I said. Hopefully we don't get into a traffic jam...Aiden POV
Should I ask him? Nah, that seems inappropriate. Plus why ask him about it when he hasn't asked me, I thought. "Hey Aiden, I was wondering. I know it seems a little rude to ask, but... Are you, you know, um, like I don't want to use that wo--" I interrupted Luke before he could continue struggling to find a better word for 'gay'. "Gay? Yes, I am. Just say the word, I don't necessarily care," I responded to Luke's unfinished question. "Okay, thanks for not being so cocky!" Luke stated with such sarcasm. "You're welcome!" I responded sarcastically. "You're not the only one that knows sarcasm!" I explained. "Aiden, do you, like, have a boyfriend?" Luke asked. That's a ignorant question since I just got to Los Angeles, I wanted to say. "No, no I do not have a boyfriend," I politely responded. "Oh, okay then," Luke said nervously. "Your turn to answer my questions!" I hollered. "Luke Omi Morris, are you a homosexual?" I said, making Luke feel stupid for not knowing the word 'homosexual'. "I'm not sure, to be honest. There's this one boy. His name's John Sanders. I've known him for a while, and we kissed twice, and I liked it. I do wish I hadn't, though," Luke said in a depressed tone. "Not something you want to say to a gay kid but okay!" I said. "No offense, but that kiss got me really stressed out! I'm the starting quarterback on the McAndrew football team! I don't know what to do!" Luke shouted.
Soon after an awkward silence we arrived at the huge campus. How am I supposed to know which school is mine? I thought to myself. "Okay, the building split into three. Building A is McAndrew, Building B is Pacific Coast, and Building C is Martin Luther King, got that?" Luke asked. I simply nodded my head. "Hey, Lil' Bro, go and find yourself some friends. You're gonna need it to survive on campus. Especially during lunch hour when all the school's are together on campus!" Luke explained. "Thanks for the heads-up!" I yelled as I walked into Building B, my school. The main lobby for Pacific Coast Community Charter School was pretty impressive. It had a ceiling that went to the 3rd floor, which is also the last. There was a balcony going around the lobby in a circle and the halls were very bright colors. The main lobby had a mural of the beach with the Santa Monica Pier near the bottom left corner. On the other side was a showcase filled with trophies the school has won in the 10 years the school's been open. Best Academic Progress, Best Environmental Progress, Best School Lunches in California. Wow, this school is impressive. Suddenly, I bumped into a boy and we both fell to the ground. "Hey, watch it!" The boy said. "Sorry, it's my first day. I'm new here and I was admiring how impressive this school is!" I explained. "You're new, that's odd. Anyway, I'm Noah Clark! I'm in the 7th Grade! Nice to meet you!" Noah said happily. Why is he so happy, I just knocked him down with my big head, I thought to myself. "I'm Aiden Morris. I'm also in the 7th Grade!" I said trying to sound as exuberant as possible. "Well Noah, will you mind showing me where the Main Office is? I need my schedule," I explained. "No, you don't. Our school doesn't work like that. Whatever classes you go to on your first week of school here becomes the classes you will go to on those days in the week. Just follow me to all my classes this week. Next week, you'll get your schedule looking exactly like mine!" Noah said super happy. "Hey, Noah!" A girl said from a distance. "Who's your friend?" The girl continued to ask. "My name's Aiden Morris," I responded politely. "Nice to meet you, Aiden! My name is Joyce!" Joyce stated. "Aiden, I know it's impolite to ask, but I just want to know if you're homosexual?" Joyce asked. "Yes, I am. Is there something wrong with that?" I asked. Joyce looked me, then at Noah, then she smiled. "Well, you guys will be great friends!" Joyce said as she pushed us close together. She then happily skipped away, minding her own business. "What was that about?" I asked Noah as I pulled away from him since we still in each other's breathing space. "I'm gay, too. Joyce is just happy that there's another gay kid in the school! There's a lot in the High School department but in the Middle School department, it's just you, me, and a kid named Jack, but he's going to graduate from 8th grade and go to some boarding school in Texas," Noah explained. After walking around the school's halls, the bell rung. "Time for class!" Noah hollered. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a classroom. "What class is this?" I asked. "Life Science. We have Humanities next!" Noah replied. I took a seat next to Noah in Noah, considering he had no Lab Partner and there was only 2 seats available. "Hello, sorry I'm late. I was in the ladies room when the stall I was in ran out of toilet paper! Here's my late pass from the Janitor, Ms. Baker!" Joyce hollered as she walked in the classroom late.
It's Lunch Hour and Luke was right. There is a mess on campus! "HEY, AIDEN! OVER HERE! OVER GERE! GET YOUR SILLY ASS HERE NOW! NOAH AND I SIT HERE ALL THE TIME! COME HERE!!" Joyce hollered from the other side of the campus. What the hell is wrong with this bitch? I thought. I walked over to the table where they were seated. "Hey, Aiden!" Noah said smiling at me. I smiled back. "Hey, guys!" I said. Just then, I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Hi, Aiden!" The voice said. I turn around and what stood before me was a beautiful girl with brown hair and hazel eyes. "Do I know you?" I asked. "My name's Lauren. We're in Math class together with Mr. Williams," Lauren explained. "Oh yeah, I completely forgot for a sec. Nice seeing you again!" I said smiling. "Um, I was wondering. Do you, like, wanna go out sometime?" Lauren asked. I have to admit, I say I'm 'gay' because it's easier than saying 'bisexual'. "Sure, but I would have to ask my foster parents, though," I told Lauren. "I can let you know tomorrow, if you want," I stated politely. "Yeah, that's fine!" Lauren said. Then she picked up her purse from the seat and walked away. "I thought you were gay?" Joyce asked, sounding disappointed. "I'm actually bisexual. It's just easier to say gay," I explained. "Oh, okay. Noah does that, too!" Joyce hollered. I don't even think Noah heard because he's too busy eating his sandwich. Well, I guess I have a girlfriend...Luke POV
"Hey, John. Can I talk to you real quick?" I asked. John just nodded his head, being shy as usual. I grabbed his hand and had him follow me through the crowd of people from the 3 schools. I led John into Building A, and into the first floor men's bathroom. "Kiss me!" I ordered. John blushed and looked really shy. "John, just do it for me. Please!?" I begged. John then leaned in and began to kiss me. I cupped his cheek with my hand as I began to lead us to a wall. I then pinned John onto the wall and kissed him vigorously. I then pulled away. "Shit!" I screamed. "What happened?" John asked. Finally he's talking, I thought to myself. "You happened! I started defending you from the bullies and the homophobics like did for others. But then I wasn't doing it for you to be nice, I began to do because I like you, John. I like A LOT!! And to be honest, I don't care what any of the guys on the football team think of me!! I'm gay! Oh well, I don't care!! I just want to be with you, John!!" I explained. "I know how you feel," John said, looking depressed. "I had a crush on you for a while now and it only hurt me not being able to be with you," John explained. "I'm sorry, John. I didn't want to put you through that. I should've told you sooner," I apologized. "It's fine, really. You needed time to think this out before you did something stupid," John completely understood. "Can we keep this secret for a while, please?" I said.
"Sure," John said. Thank God I can trust John...
