I don't take joy in seeing my father unhappy, but then again, it's not exactly a walk in the park for me to be unhappy either. But I wasn't really in the mood to be social. Social is what got me here in the first place. It's time's like these that make me wonder if the Lord is paying attention. Don't get me wrong, I know he loves me and that he has a purpose for me, but right now it kind of felt like my purpose didn't exist. I'm sure I'm not alone in the world, even though it definitely felt like I was right at that moment. I felt alone at that moment though so I went to go to bed........

There was an eerie silence and then, out of the dark silence that I was surrounded by, there were thousands of whispers. They kept getting more and more intense. The darkness surrounding me was almost suffocating, and then I heard my name called by a voice I didn't recognize. It sounded distant but it was there and there was something wrong about it. It's hard to explain.

"Delaney." The voice whispered in the dim distance. Then I opened my eyes. It was a dream, or a nightmare. It definitely didn't have rainbows and unicorns in it. I miss the days where dreams were simple and fantastic in nature. Nowadays, my dreams are pretty dull, and my nightmares are horrific, but none had been quite like the one I just had. It felt so real, and most importantly it felt evil. I looked to my side and saw that there was a note left on my table and it said, "Went to get food, we'll bring you something back." I was sitting there for a moment and then there was a knock downstairs at the door.

I rushed down to see who it was and I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked through the peephole.

"DELANEY GRAYSON WE KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE! Now be a dear and open up. We need to talk to you about something." It was Officer Daniels. Then I realized how dark the entire room was. It was like there was something watching me other than the crazy officer and the two officers with him. I was scared but I wasn't going to let them kill me like they killed my Mom. I jumped into action and ran to the back door and threw it open and ran out of it. I looked across the way and the doors were locked 4 different ways and there was no one home. Nobody seemed to be home on the street and so I ran through the back yard and ran down the street behind the house. I could hear them running behind me.

"GRAYSON STOP!!!!!" Officer Daniel's shouted and a fear filled me that I couldn't even begin to explain. I was terrified but something told me to keep running, and not only that but to run faster than I normally would. I saw a broken fence and I slid in between the broken pieces and got a massive splinter in my arm.

"AH!" I cried out as I felt the pain fill my shoulder. It was a bit intense so I knew it couldn't have been good. I did hear it break a bit when I slid through. Some might say I need to lose weight because of that, but I think I'm just the right size. Regardless, I was seriously injured, but that didn't matter right at that moment. I kept running and running, then I turned a corner and BAM!!! I ran straight into one of the officers. I tried to run away from him but he grabbed me.

"You're not going anywhere you little pest." The guy said and then he got on the walky-talky he had. "I have apprehended the suspect on Lilith Street." That's when I noticed that his grip had loosened. Being a black belt I used my best maneuver and managed to get loose. I felt myself running away but the adrenaline blocked my sense of the air filling my ears as I ran as fast as humanly possible. That's when I heard it.

I heard a gunshot and felt my body jolt. When I didn't fall to the ground immediately and the pain hadn't set in yet, there were two more gun shots, and then I fell to the ground. There was excruciating pain for a second and then pretty soon it all went numb as somebody turned my body over and all I could see was Officer Daniels face. He looked at me evilly as he stared down at me in amusement.
