The sound of pounding rain hitting the ground could be heard outside of a gray rocky cavern on the planet named Naga.

It had officially been five days now since the death of Apophis' parents. For the last couple of days, he had been taking up refuge inside of the cavern that, luckily, was inhabited by any of the non-humanoid beings living on the planet.

Apophis' survival was dependent on finding food in the water or stealing food from the shops that were here on his home planet.

"Man, it is raining hard out there finding food for lunch," He muttered as he leaned against the cavern wall, shivering slightly from the cold brought in by the rainy weather.

After a few moments of hesitation, he decided that sitting here and waiting for the rain to settle wouldn't help feed his stomach, so he sighed and walked out of the cavern to search for today's breakfast.

~~~~~
Apophis was now walking in the rain, searching for the best method to get breakfast in this rain.
"What would be the easiest way to grab food in this weather?" He questioned himself while looking around."Definitely not the water. It's way too rough to swim in and fish any aquatic creatures out for breakfast," He said, looking at the turbulent waves of the water.
A smile came to his face as he noticed a tree of red oval, round ball-shaped fruit with stringy green specks on the outside of it. It was an Ecla Fruit bush. He grabbed a few and quickly headed back to the cavern as the rain started to pour even harder.
"This should do for breakfast," He said, pulling apart the red skin to reveal a smaller pink oval from inside of the skin and started eating it and continued to pull the skin off on the rest of the Ecla Fruit he collected from the tree.
He continued to eat his breakfast before peacefully lying back against the cavern wall and drifting off for a relaxing nap from breakfast. The cold temperature rain was making him sleepy.
~~~~~

Apophis woke up from his nap and noticed that the sound of pouring rain had settled on down outside and headed on out to gather more food for later so he didn't have to come back on out for lunch and dinner.

'That looks good.' He thought as he noticed a shop owner setting out fruit and packaging hyper-nitro sandwiches on the table inside of the store and fridges.

As soon as the man started heading to the storage room. He ran on in, grabbed a few sandwiches and fruit, and started rushing on out of the store.

'Perfect, this should fill me on up for lunch and dinner for today.' He thought as he ran back to the cavern before the shop owner returned and noticed him stealing from his stock.

"This is going to be a delicious lunch and should last long enough for dinner," He said, entering the cavern and placing the large bundle of food he had stolen on the ground before he started eating some of the pink-looking fruit he had taken from the shop. He then ate one of the sandwiches he stole as well.

Once he was filled up with his lunch, he decided to get a drink of water to wash down his afternoon meal.

~~~~~
It was now late in the evening. Apophis was done with the remaining of food he had stolen earlier for lunch and dinner.
Apophis was now drinking a hot of water from his cup hands before heading back to the cavern, knowing that the dangerous snakes would be coming on out in a couple more hours for late-night hunting while the less deadly snakes were finishing up hunting for the night.
Soon as he made it back to the cavern, he leaned against the wall, looking at the star view from inside his new home, wondering what his older brother was up to.
'It has been two years since big brother left the homeworld. I wonder why he decided to leave and never come back or say goodbye.' He thought, listening to the sound of Conqouex snake hunting out and about and keeping quiet so none of them picked up on his presence.
Apophis leaned against the cavern wall and closed his eyes. So many thoughts of his family ran through his head, reminding him that they were gone and never coming back and that he was alone now and forever.
He knew that survival outside in the cavern wouldn't be easy. The only survival method would be stealing food and keeping it hidden from dangerous nighttime hunting creatures. Through something, he knew for sure that surviving on his own was better than being forced into the orphanage and into a family, thinking that they could replace the one he lost.
Hey readers!
The second chapter is written and published. Apophis has been surviving living inside of a cavern for five days now since the death of his parents. He refuses to ever go to the orphanage, not wanting a new family trying to replace the one he had lost. I plan to add some au scenes being from a different perspective than the movie, plus I want to show Apophis's story and begin showing his background. I also feel like GOTG was fast-paced, and I want to slow it down slightly.
I hope you all are enjoying the story so far. I am having a good time writing it. We need more GOTG fics with Nebula as a love interest, so looking forward to writing their relationship.
Anyway, I love to hear your thoughts on shipping names for the two. I have NeuPop, and Apoubla as wo ideas so far, but not sure how great those sound. Let me know what you suggest, as the shipping name is in the comments.
Thanks for reading. More will be coming soon as possible.
