Chapter 2 - Billowing Smoke

Mikey coughed as more smoke entered into his lungs, His eyes stung from the smoke. He didn't want to keep running, But he had too. There was armoured men chasing after the box turtle. And he couldn't fight, He'd left his weapon back home. He gasped as a sudden explosion shook the ground, And a building collapsed. He felt debris scraping and scratching his skin. He just kept running.

'Think mikey! What would Raph do...'  the box turtle asked herself. Mikey gasped as the armoured men kept appearing, Until they surrounded the box turtle. With smoke billowing he could barley see anything. As armoured men tried to grasp the turtle, He slid past them and ran. As he turned a corner he felt gravity pull him down. The box turtle was falling.

Mikey woke to pain in his leg, Pushing herself up she cast their gaze around. Mikey was a hollow cave, It was obvious an explosion had occurred, and he was terrified. He coughed at the amount of smoke and embers surrounding and suffocating the city altogether. There was shrapnel lodged in his leg, It wasn't deep so they pulled it out. Mikey looked around, There had to be a way out.

After searching through the rubble, Mikey had found an old rope. The box turtles saw a hook and tied it to the rope, Tossing it up like a grappling hook. The box turtle started to climb the rope. Once he'd reached the top mikey wheezed. His lungs had too much smoke, Causing the box turtle to become light headed. He sat against the wall of a destroyed building. "Ok mikey! You can do this...you can-!" He coughed several more times before standing up, Hold his side, He started back towards home. If Leo, Donnie And Raph were going anywhere, It's home. Mikey started to carefully looking for the nearest manhole that didn't have armed guards around it.

He stared at the ruins of big Mama's hotel, And started to look for any Yōkai. The ruins had been deserted. He was about to leave quietly before he heard a soft groan. She rushed over to a pile and rubble and pushed stones away. Laying there with his hand and legs pinned lay repo mantis.
"Turtle guy?" The mantis said, scratching his head with the free limb. "Repo mantis! Are you ok? Do you need help?" The mantis scoffed. "No I'm fine, I'm sure a magical fairy will come down and get me out. Of course I need help!" Mikey didn't say anything and pushed rubble off. Once the mantis was free his eyes narrowed and he leapt at mikey, Tacking the box turtle to the ground.

"Repo-!" Mikey screeched, "What are you doing?!"  The mantis glared at mikey. "You did this! You told those flesh-blobs where the hidden city is! And now look at it!" The mantis scowled. "What?! No! Repo we were at home when it all went down!" The box turtle explained, trying to get free. "Why should I believe you."  Repo spat. Mikey wheezed then answered.  "Do you really think we'd do something like this? We've never really had a problem with Yōkai! Other then fighting you and those other guys, Nothing against them. Now get off me if you want to hide somewhere safe!" Mikey spat back.

The mantis looked lost for words, then let the box turtles stand up. "Where is this safe place? Are there any other Yōkai there?" Repo asked in an almost pleading tone. "I doubt it, But there will be! We'll fit as many yōkai in as possible." Mikey reassured the panicked mantis. Repo only nodded, and let mikey lead the way. She carefully slid past armed guards and the big vans. He turned a corner and sighed in relief, He'd spotted a manhole that wasn't being guarded. Mikey and repo quickly yet quietly ran towards it, Repo lifted the lid and both mutants slid down the latter.

Once they reached the bottom repo looked lost, But mikey knew her way around the sewers. "Come on, Follow me." Repo followed the turtle and it didn't take long to end up at the safe haven. Mikey gasped at the sight of Leo, He was fine, Other then a stab wound and a cut on his arm. She ran towards Leo and hugged his brother. "Leo! Your alive!" Her brothers arms were tightly wrapped around mikey. "I thought you were dead." Leo said with a breaking voice.  "I'm ok. We're ok." Mikey glanced behind him to see repo mantis passed out on the floor, Sleeping.
