I went to bed at 10:00 pm last night for some reason I just couldn't sleep properly. My parents were up doing lord knows what in their bedroom. I hate when they do that anyway. I sat at the table eating cereal when my sister came in with her phone against her ear and a bag of chips in her other hand. She of course was talking to her wanna-be-popular friends from school who didn't even give a crap about her. They just wanted to be friends with her so they could bully me. They do it all the time and even the one time I made a friend, he was only friends with me to get into my sister's pants. Gross.
I finished my cereal, put my shoes on, put my backpack on, and started walking to school alone. But this time someone was walking right next to me. It was Sam. Why doesn't he just leave me alone I'm trying to be a loner like everyone says I am. He looked at me and smiled like I was his new best friend or something. "How have you been stranger?" he said kicking a rock across the pavement. "Not good, I didn't get much sleep, but why are you talking to me seriously? Don't you have friends at school who you can walk with?" He just looked at me and smirked. "No, but I was wondering if you could be my friend, and if you are thinking that I'm going to be friends with you just to get into your sister's pants you are wrong." I was actually surprised someone told him that even though no one talks about me at all, all they do is spread false rumors about me to people outside of school who don't even pay attention to what they are being told.
"Why not?" "Because your sister may be hot and all, but she really isn't my type. She is dumb and has no clue her friends are using her." I laughed for the first time in forever. It felt great how someone actually understood how Tina worked. I then caught myself. NO. I'm still trying to figure myself out right now I can't be crushing on someone already. I need time, I can't have him seeing this. NO. "Wow that laugh was actually pretty cute Morgan, you should really do that more," He said sweetly.
I was practically blushing at his words, he likes my laugh wow. "Thanks, I guess, no one has ever told me that before." He laughed. It was very deep and genuine. from what I could get of his figure on the way to school was that he is 5'9, and he is a brunette that has honey-brown eyes with a very small scent of cologne. It smelled like wood and had a small hint of a river water scent that took me back to when I was little and my grandma would take me to a small river and let me swim for a bit before going back to the cabin to eat her famous chili that everyone loved so much.
I missed those times, but now they are gone because she died of cancer when I was 6 and my grandpa still hasn't talked to anyone after. We arrived at the entrance of the school. He and I had a lot in common and we liked to go swimming. My sister came driving in her fancy Bel-Air that our parents got for her on her 15 birthday.
I wish I had gotten a car, but they told me I could just have some money and that's it. It's Bullshit. She walked up to me and Sam with her friends right behind her as always. "What are you doing with the school's princess Sam, why don't you hang out with us instead?" she said looking him up and down. I rolled my eyes and was about to walk away, but Sam said something that made me jittery inside. "No thanks and she isn't the princess you are. She is a way better person and I would never hang out with someone like you ever."
She scoffed and walked away the puppies she calls friends following behind her. He turned back to me and smiled, "Don't worry I'm going to be your new friend for now okay?" "okay" We went our separate ways for class, but after walking away I accidentally bumped into someone really tall. "Sorry, I didn't see you there," I said, rubbing my forehead.
"It's alright and uh.... could you show me to the principles office please?" "uh- yeah sure let me just get something from my locker real quick," he nodded his head and let me lead the way to my locker. He stood there while I put stuff in and took my textbook out. "Alright it's right here," I looked at him. "Alright, thanks and I'm Evan Hansley. I didn't get your name by the way," he smiled.
"Oh, my name is Morgan Lease, it's nice to meet you," I said as sweetly as I could.
He must be new then....
