Your POV
"Say, (Y/N), you said your last name was Kujo?" Meisaku questioned you, her expression back to its hostile demeanor.
"Yes, I'm the eldest son of the CEO of Outer Ring Energies." You answered calmly for her, not wanting to alert Momo to her mother's change.
Meisaku didn't say anything for a long while, considering something as her expression changed to one lost in thought.
"My husband has a secretary transfer from Outer Ring Energies..." Meisaku spoke with an unsure tone.
"Oh?" You raised a nervous eyebrow.
"Do you know who she is?" Meisaku's voice was suspicious now, "I've seen her around my husband a lot lately."
"Hmm... I can't be sure... " You began to silently panic, 'Do I say it? Do I tell her about her husband's affair?'
'I wouldn't suggest it.' Nova returned, much to your relief, 'That's a whole can of worms the author doesn't want opened yet.'
'The author?' You asked silently.
'Nevermind that, just don't tell her yet.' Nova's voices were stern.
"Now that I think about it, I know a secretary was transferred but I don't know who she is." You moved your hand to scratch the back of your neck in a seemingly embarrassed way, but in truth you had to occupy your hands with something while lying through your teeth for real.
It depended on it. Did Meisaku believe your lie, or did she see right through it? Only time could tell as she narrowed her eyes at you, contemplating your words and mannerisms as you tried your hardest to deceive her.
"Okay, thank you for your answer." Meisaku kept her suspicious gaze on you.
"You're welcome, Mrs. Yaoyorozu." You took a stealthy deep breath to calm your outward emotions as you panicked internally, 'DOES SHE KNOW OR WHAT?! She's downright terrifying...'
'She doesn't know you're lying,' Nova informed, 'but she believes you're withholding information from her. She thinks there's an illegitimate reason the secretary was transferred.'
'The hell does that mean?' You shook your head slowly as you tried to gather your thoughts together while Meisaku kept her gaze on you.
'You're honestly idiotic sometimes...' Nova sighed like an annoyed parent before everything suddenly went black.
Your POV, your home, three hours later...
You opened your eyes to find yourself in your bedroom. You sat up and held a hand up to your forehead, groaning as your body was unbelievably sore. You stood up from the bed with great effort, setting your right hand down on your nightstand as you guided yourself to the lights witch. You flicked on the the dim lights to find Broken Nova watching you as the stand sat in a chair in the corner of the room.
"So, you're finally awake." Nova turned their head staring at some spot on the wall, as if waiting for something to happen.
"Damn!" You jumped upon seeing Broken Nova in the corner, "Go ahead, don't say anything and scare me, that's fine."
"But I did say something?" Nova turned back to you, "Oh, you mean while you were lost finding the lights."
"Yes, obviously!" You sighed and moved back to the bed, sitting down on the mattress with a grunt, "What happened?"
