Their grand uncle Tobias was not a rabbi by any stretch of the imagination. Their grandfather's brother was a record executive. He tended to hire odd talent for his record company. He practiced Hasidism and was the closest the family felt was like a rabbi when it came to unorthodox or not entirely legal ceremonies.
This was why Elon asked him to help with his wedding. Two men getting married was not legal or recognized by the state, country, and certain religious figures and factions. Louis had tried asking an actual rabbi once and had come home with his ears still ringing from being shouted at so much. He had been forced to lock the door to stop Elon from seeking the man out to give him a piece of his mind.
"Elon, you cannot attack a rabbi."
"Yes, I can!"
"I mean you can but you shouldn't attack one!"
So, Elon's grand uncle was their next best choice for the ceremony. He wrote up a ketubah by hand and had the paper used heavily decorated with images of flowering trees and small animals. "Don't worry. I'll make sure your wedding is perfect," he promised Elon when he saw him worrying about the arrangements. "Everything is going to be perfect."
They found a large and private garden to hold the ceremony. The chuppah was put up with the poles Egon had made for the couple and Elon had flowers added to them and the pale blue sheet spread on top of the poles.
No one was surprised when Elon announced he would be wearing a dress for the wedding. They were however surprised that he had chosen to wear a fairly conservative looking dress and not something that usually fit his loud and open style. Dana had almost been certain he would ask if he could borrow the dress she had worn when possessed by Zuul. It was white and was long enough to just barely touch the ground. Beading and lace made up the top with a high neck. The dress also had sleeves that went down to his wrists, ending in small bits of ruffled lace.
Elon had his cousin Russell and his brother Egon escort him to the chuppah when the ceremony began. He and Louis chose to forgo the badeken, both because neither was a bride and also because a veil covering his entire face wouldn't work with his big pompadour that stood out. This he had chosen to have decorated with small flowers being woven into the blonde locks.
Russell couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the white dress Elon wore, tilting his head. "Are you sure you should be wearing white?" he whispered as they started to walk to the chuppah.
"I'll snap your neck, soldier boy," Elon countered through his teeth.
"I'm just saying. White is usually for virgins and everyone here knows for a fact that you are most definitely not..."
"Behave yourselves," Egon softly warned from Elon's other side. He briefly pointed the candle he was holding at his twin and cousin before righting it to avoid dripping wax on anyone. "If grandma Eve hears you talking like that..!"
Elon sniffed, shooting Russell a look from the corner of his eye that promised this conversation would continue after the ceremony. Russell just smiled back, looking forward to it.
Their grandfather Adam and another cousin who went by the nickname Friendly walked with Louis to the chuppah. Friendly was a police officer and had chosen to wear his dress uniform for the wedding, complete with his gun in its holster.
"If anything happens to Elon..." Friendly whispered, wearing a bright smile on his face. His hand briefly touched his holster and Louis gulped.
"He's not going to do anything," Adam promised.
Louis let out a sigh of relief. "Oh good."
"I on the other hand...will do something if my grandson's heart is broken," the old man warned, his grip tightening briefly around Louis' arm.
