But he was not the only "super" around, loud jumping could be heard on the bridge and it was known other than superboy, the thumping made it harder for superman to maintain control of the bridge but he knew he had to
Superboy picked up the cars that were failing of the bridge and he was able to do the majority with ease until it got to the bus. He tries to used all his strength and he pushed it upwards luckily superman caught it before it did any damage.
Superboy: I had that
Superman: I didn't wanna take the chance. As it is, your landing could have destabilized the entire bridge.
