The next day Mira woke up to the sound of her ringing tone.
Grumbling, she reaches out for her phone on the top of her desk.
Without checking the caller ID, she picked up. "Hello?"
"Mira, are you still asleep?"
On hearing Andrew's voice, Mira's eyes jolted wide opened. "Andrew? How did you get my number?" She shakes her head. "Anyways, why did you call? It's Saturday"
Andrew chuckled. "You didn't forget about our 'stakeout' today, now, did you?"
"Stakeout?" Mira rubbed her forehead as she suddenly remembered. "That's right, it's today. I nearly overslept. Thanks for calling"
"It's not a problem. By the way, are you alright? You sound quite unlike your usual self"
Brandon was still on Mira's mind like a leech but she was determined to brush him off, even if it was just for today. She had to focus on work. "It's probably because I'm just waking up"
"I understand. We decided to go in teams, remember? Let me know when to pick you up"
"That's not necessary, Andrew. We can just meet outs--"
"I insist, Mira"
Mira grudgingly accepted. The truth was that she didn't want Mirabel and Andrew to meet because If they did, she knew Mirabel won't drop the subject.
After hanging up, Mira moved to the bathroom to freshen up. She was relieved though that Kyle won't be joining their team stakeout.
She was so nervous on meeting Kyle again after last night.
"Hopefully he'll forget all about last night during the weekend" Mira mumbles to herself. "But who am I kidding? It's the same Kyle that's treating me badly now thinking I'm Mirabel"
Mira shakes her head, clearing her mind off thoughts of Kyle as she stepped out of the bathroom.
Moving to her wardrobe, Mira scanned through for any clothe she had that screamed 'casual' but she couldn't find any except a long white gown.
"I really need to go shopping one of these days" Mira mutters as she brings out the white gown from her wardrobe.
As she was about to walk away from her wardrobe, memory of when she was trapped inside with Kyle flashed through her mind and made her squeal. "His lips are so pretty"
Getting ahold of herself, Mira forces herself to stop her indecent thoughts as she slammed her wardrobe shut.
"You can't be having this thoughts, Mira." She scolds herself "Yes, he might be your childhood crush but he's your boss now, do you get that?"
Placing the gown on her bed, Mira moved to the front of her mirror where she did her normal morning skincare routine to enable a glowing skin. "Perfect!"
As she put on her gown, Mira hears a knock on her door before it was thrown open and a sleepy Mirabel's face came to light. "Oh, you're up?"
"Where are you going? It's Saturday" Mirabel questioned.
"A team stakeout. Things aren't looking good right now at the company"
"Is your boss making you work overtime?"
Mira shakes her head, dissing the thought immediately. "No, it's nothing like that. My teammates and I just insisted on doing so"
"I see. Have fun" The door bell rang as Mira stills. Could that be Andrew?. She thought. I thought we'd agreed I'll call him when I was ready?!.
