For over one year I had a boyfriend now. My Alexander. I loved him more than anything and anyone. And I would still love him for another year and the following year, and so on. Everyone knew of our relationship and we were the perfect couple at our school.

Everything was perfect, until one day, when everything was destroyed. But first I'll tell you how we got to know us: it was the first day of school after the summer holidays. The classes were divided and mixed. Alec and I were in one class then. At first we did not talk to each other often, since he was always very withdrawn. He spoke rarely and always stayed with his sister and his best friend. I always found himinteresting. He was beautiful with his blue eyes and his black hair.

A few weeks later I talked to him. I asked him just for one date. And to my surprise, he even said yes. The date was on the next date and we immediately liked each other. One date turned to more and suddenly we kissed. When exactly our relationship got officially, none of us knew. We just started at some point to keep on holding hands and kissing.
So our relationship started. Yes, quite unspectacular, but better than not at all. Everyone found our relationship sweet and even gave us a ship-name: Malec. We found it also quite cuddly.

One day it came as it had to come in every perfect relationship. No, we didn't break up, but there was always something that broke the relationship somehow or at least bring out of balance. Since this one day everyone worried about me. And this feeling was stupid.

That morning I woke up with breathing difficulties. I tried to speak, but my voice was barely above a whisper. I was hoarse, but it happened to everyone sometimes. I went out of the house at 7 o'clock as usual and then I went directly to school. The first lesson was cancelled and I spent it together with Alec in the schoolyard. Then the bell rang for the second lesson and we went to the class. After about half an hour I felt a scratching in my throat. I put my hand to my mouth and coughed. When I looked at my hand afterwards, it was covered in red liquid. I quickly took a handkerchief hoping that Alexander had not noticed what had just happened, and then I wiped the red liquid, which turned out to be blood, away. Fortunately, Alec really, hadn't seen it.

I came home after school and did my homework. In the afternoon I met with Alec. In the evening I got back home and went to the bathroom. When I brushed my teeth my smaller sister Elevation came into the bathroom and wanted to brush her teeth too. I stepped back a bit and then I felt the urge to cough again. I spit out the toothpaste in my mouth and coughed. Again there was blood. But unlike in school, I could not stop. Ilana asked if everything was okay and I just nodded. However, it was not, because my entire chest hurted. My sister ran outside to get my parents. Worried they came in and as my mother saw that I coughed up blood, she began to cry. My father walked up to me trying to calm me down.

Fifteen minutes later I finally stopped coughing. My parents wanted to bring me to the hospital, of course, but I resisted, however, and my parents said it was okay until it would happen again.

I did not want to tell Alec about this of course and some days it went well. I met with Alec and went to school. And one day, it came back. I woke up with breathing difficulties and was hoarse. At noon I wanted to meet with Alec. We went to my house after school and we had lunch. Then we watched a movie disappearing to my room. We kissed instead of watching the movie and suddenly I had the feeling that I had to cough again. I let go of Alec off and coughed more blood. Of course, Alec was extremely worried. Only then I told him that happened before.

Since then Alec behaved weird. He barely touched me or talked to me. And I didn't know why. But the coughing was gone again for a short time. It came back when I was in school: I was sitting in math class and was almost falling asleep because of boredom, but then I was wide awake as the scratching returned. I grabbed Alec's hand squeezing it softly and I pointed at my neck. He wanted to tell the teacher but he was totally focused on maths. But he then got the bill. I coughed loudly and could not stop. Soon the whole table was full of blood. Of course the teacher was worried, just as the rest of the students. I calmed down again after a few minutes and the teacher told me to go home. I refused and leaned against Alec weakly.

When I coughed up blood again on the weekend and also water this time, my parents were even more worried and forced me to go to the hospital. However, I wanted that Alec would come with me. I was examined continuously and when the doctor wanted to tell me the diagnosis, he said that Alec should go out first. My boyfriend kissed me and left. I told the doctor that it can not be that bad, but well, it was the opposite of not bad ...
