Uppermoon Giyuu AU
Alive Sabito AU
Hashira Sabito AUThird person POV
Sabito was peacefully strolling through the forest near his estate as usual. It was morning, so he didn't have to worry about pesky demons. He still brought his katana though, most people would've thought he was being too paranoid but it was better to be safe than sorry. He rather liked living thank you very much.
Sabito loved listening to the sounds of the woods. It was music to his ears and it helped relax his nerves.
. . .
Today was different.
The sound of birds and insects chirping, subtle wind rustling the leaves, water flowing down the river were absent. So was the smell of fresh air, morning dew, rotting wood, and nutrient-filled soil.
The sun felt different too. Instead of filling him with warmth, joy, and brightness, it sent a chill down his spine. Sure, the sunlight looked normal, it was lighting up the forest, yet it felt artificial.
He felt as if he had fallen into a void of nothingness.
He still has his senses, but he felt nothing. The things his eyes saw were different with the things he truly felt.
Everything was numb.
If he been anyone else, he might have gone insane. This was not natural. Everything around him was not natural. Thousands of thoughts ran around in his brain like little, annoying children, almost giving him a headache.
Wait- . . .
Oh shit
Sabito mentally berated himself.
How could he be so stupid!? It didn't feel natural, it felt fake, artificial, it felt inhuman because it wasn't human. This was a work of a demon. A powerful one at that. This demon was troublesome, it was able to create such a realistic illusion and mask its own foul scent at the same time.
Sabito skillfully unsheathed his katana, immediately going into a defensive stance. He really hoped the demon wasn't an uppermoon, but unfortunately, Lady Luck despised him.
"What a clever little slayer you are. . ."
Sabito tensed. All his messy thoughts jumbled together into one very helpful phrase "RUN WHILE YOU CAN YOU FUCKING IDIOT!"
Like the emotionally healthy person he is, Sabito shoved all his inner panic and turmoil into a metaphorical bottle. He proceeded to throw that bottle towards his imaginary ocean full of sharks that will hopefully consume that bottle and digest it into nothingness.
Again, as an emotionally healthy (and totally not suicidal) person, Sabito bravely (or idiotically) yelled, "Show yourself, demon!"
A low chuckle rang out the forest. Sabito tried to pinpoint where the sexy voice came from, yet he was unable to do so.
Within a blink of an eye, a (extremely hot) demon appeared in front of Sabito out of nowhere.
Sabito was shocked. He stumbled a bit, but quickly regained his footing. He held up his katana higher, fully ready for a fight.
When Sabito got a better look at the demon, he was honestly surprised, the demon resembled his late best friend, Giyuu Tomioka quite a lot.
To his pale complexion, high cheekbones, perfectly plump lips, chaotic, spiky hair, slender yet muscular build. . .
Although, there was still notable differences such as the obvious glowing blue horns on either side of his head , dark blue hair, giant fish fins that replaced his ears, markings wrapping around his entire body which symbolises flowing water, and most importantly, his glowing, ocean blue eyes that hold the kanji "上弦" and "肆".
Uppermoon four
He was fucked.
He was royally fucked.
He prayed to all the gods above to give him a more peaceful death while fighting uppermoon four. Maybe the demon could swiftly blow off his head in a single swipe and he could be sent to the afterlife painlessly.
Maybe.
He looked uppermoon four in the eyes and braced himself for his final fight in this lifetime.
While Sabito was mentally preparing for death, Uppermoon four giggled.
He fucking giggled.
.
.
"You are very funny, Sabito"
Uppermoon four stated while he looked at Sabito in poorly concealed amusement.
What the actual fuck.
"How- how do you know my name?"
Uppermoon four then looked disappointed. Sabito thought he looked like Master Urokodaki when he caught Sabito trying to sneak out with Giyuu to the village nearby to get some snacks.
"Do you not remember me?"
Uppermoon said sadly with a cute pout.
Sabito's terrifying image of uppermoons crumbled like a sandcastle that was destroyed by that little bratty cousin you hate with every fibre of your being.
Wait- "remember me?"
.
.
.
Oh. . .
Oh
OOHHH
OH SHIT-
"Giyuu. . .?"
"No, I'm your mom"
Sabito lowered his katana, and relaxed a little. Tears of happiness flowing freely out his eyes. (In retrospect, Sabito should not have done this, because Giyuu still has the ability to kill him, but ehhh, cute bonding moment)
"Respectfully, fuck you" Sabito responded with a watery smile.
Giyuu opened his arms and said in a warm tone, "Come here, I miss you too"
Sabito dropped his katana in record time. He ran towards Giyuu and jumped into his arms. He squeezed Giyuu with all his strength, hoping this wasn't a cruel dream.
His tears still flowed like a waterfall, but he didn't care. He had his Giyuu back.
Giyuu returned Sabito's bone-crushing hug back without any hesitation. He had truly missed Sabito. A few tears managed to escape his eyes. As he buried his head in Sabito's shoulder, he smelled a faint scent of lavender.
When he had just been turned into a demon, he retained his memories. It was truly a blessing in disguise. He spent many days cursing the demon king, cursing the gods, cursing everying for giving him such an evil fate.
It didn't matter anymore, because now Giyuu has his Sabito, and Sabito has his Giyuu.
