Looking around, Artemis could only see a white bed, hastily made from the looks of it, the plain sheets almost touching the tiled floor, a table beside the bed, and a wardrobe. With a grunt, she pulled herself off the comfortable bed, her head threatening to split with the amount of liquor still in her body. Grabbing her phone from her pocket, slightly surprised at how it wasn't damaged, she looked at the time and gasped.

"10:30 am? Shit!"

She regretted the second she yelled that as she realized she still had no idea where she was. Walking towards the wardrobe, she pulled the wooden doors open and saw clothes sprawled around, without a hint of tidiness. Scrunching her nose in slight disgust, she concluded that the clothes were for men so she was probably in a man's room.

That thought scared her more but she couldn't feel anything wrong with her except for the drowsiness that she chalked up to the excess alcohol she had the night prior. Although, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't remember when that happened.

There were no pictures or anything that would help her figure out whose room she was occupying so she tiptoed towards the door next to the wardrobe and turned the knob. It opened smoothly so Artemis temporarily erased kidnapping as a possibility.

"Hello?" she slurred and then sealed her mouth shut as she saw the figure sprawled on the couch. Percy lay on the sofa carefree, a thin line of drool running down his lip and chin, his blue shirt – that read 'I love sea' with a scenery of a beach behind it – making its way towards his gut but it gave enough view of his abs that Artemis had to look away instantly.

On the inside, she was livid at his audacity in bringing her to his house. How dare he? Who does he think he is that on their first 'date', if she could even call it that, he brings her over to his house? Without her permission either!

Despite that though, she had to admit that his action of letting her have the bed instead of throwing her on the couch was admirable, a thought that made her smile subconsciously. He was an interesting man.

"Fuck," she exclaimed, quietly, as she looked at the time once again. Never before was she late to work; in fact, she was always earlier by at least an hour. But today, she was late by a significant margin of more than 4 hours.

With that, she quickly rushed to the door and found her heels, fortunately still in one piece, before burying her feet in it once more. Dialing a taxi driver, she rushed out of his apartment, trying to fight the hangover that threatened to overtake her senses.

Sitting in the cab, she wondered what Percy would think of her sudden disappearance. Should she leave a message? Before she could make a decision, however, she reached her destination and paid the driver, she practically leaped outside. Thankfully, she was the Director of Operations, so she wouldn't be asked why she was wearing questionable clothes at work.

Rubbing his eyes, Percy awoke slowly, his back aching from the posture that he was laying on. The regret he felt for making the initial presumption that sleeping on the couch wouldn't hurt much stung and his back throbbed. But he was glad that he decided to sacrifice his comfort so his boss that he had gone on a 'date' would be able to sleep peacefully.

With a grunt, Percy got off the couch, his back slumped slightly as he walked with a slight hunch, careful not to straighten it immediately to avoid getting a sprain. He walked carefully towards the door that led to his room and, with a hitched breath, opened it.

To his surprise, what greeted him was not the face of his boss nor her sleeping figure but rather the empty bed and open wardrobe. Almost panicking, he was about to rush out of his house to look for her till he realized the missing heels from the doorway.

"Fucking hell," he muttered under his breath, "Should've told me you were leaving."

It was then that he realized that his shirt was still sticking just above his waist and he pulled it down, hoping Artemis didn't see his gut. Ignoring the pain in his back, he opened his refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of water, silently thanking his past self for putting it in, and took a long swig of it.

"Oh that's better," Percy said as he wiped the liquid off his lips and also successfully removed the thin line of drool that he hadn't noticed.

Grabbing his phone off the dining table where he had roughly put it last night when he dragged Artemis to his house, Percy looked at the time and groaned. 12:24 pm was not a great time to wake up, especially considering that he went to sleep at 3 am.

Percy stared at his phone for a couple of minutes before shoving it in his pocket and deciding to take a take-out for breakfast, exhaustion taking the best of him. Or maybe, he wondered, if it was too early to take a quick trip to Sally's house and meet his little sister.

Digging his phone out of his pocket, he quickly tapped it repeatedly and dialed his mom. It rang for a few seconds and just as Percy was about to cancel the outgoing, there was a click and a familiar, "Hello, Sally Jackson speaking."

"Hey mom," Percy breathed out, glad to hear his mother's voice.

"Percy? Oh my god, how are you doing?"

There was rustling and Percy assumed that she had probably been reading the newspaper which she just put aside for his sake. Smiling, he responded, "I am fine mom, how are you?"

"I am great."

"How's Estelle and Paul?"

"Paul's also great. Estelle just started going to primary school a month ago so it's been quite hectic around the house."

"Is she getting in any trouble?"

"No Perce," Sally said, a hint of humor in her tone, "She isn't like you who got in trouble every second day."

"Hey! It was very rarely my fault," Percy replied indignantly, all the while smirking.

"I know, I know."

Percy sighed and said, "You reckon I can come over and visit Estelle today?"

"Of course," Sally instantly answered, "You are welcome any time Percy."

"Cool, I'll be there in a few minutes."

"Would you like to have lunch here?"

"Is it gonna be blue coloured?"

"Obviously." The sarcasm dripping from Sally's voice made Percy happy but also made him grin as he knew who to blame for his snarky attitude. Sally might seem innocent and straightforward and caring but her mischievous side was anything but that.

Percy joked, "Then I might get there faster."

On the other side, there was static for a second before he heard Sally laughing. They exchanged a few more words and then hung up. Changing his clothes quickly, Percy checked his bed once more to make sure that Artemis has not left anything and he saw nothing that seemed out of place. Although, he did catch a whiff of her sweet scent coming from the bed, a scent that mesmerized him. Not that he'd admit it.

Grabbing his car keys from the table outside, Percy exited his house, locking the door behind him.

A/N: Like my workplace says, "Cook more, less often." I say, "Type less, less often." XD
