Alrighty, the chapter you've all been waiting for! The moment Akeela and Blaine finally meet for the first time! This chapter will be in two parts, simply because one part on it's own is waaay too short to be it's own chapter. But either way, I really hope you enjoy it! Part 2 will also be uploaded later on today.

Blaine's P.O.V

I flap even harder to reach my destination. I cock my head in every direction, making sure that no Wind Rushers are on patrol. My mask clanks around on my head as I spy a tiny island in the distance behind the Sky Tree, nearly being swallowed up by the massive waves being formed by the up-coming storm. My wings stiffen as I struggle to remain quiet. If I’m spotted now, I’m done for, I think cautiously.

The island comes into view. Mouse Bushes. I was told about this place. The waves wash against the shore as I dive down and approach it, new rain droplets stinging my eyes. Tiny bushes and tall rocks cover the small land mass, and even a hidden cave can be seen from here, shrouded in snaking vines and thick brackens. I adjust my battle claws as I flutter down and land clumsily in the undergrowth with a loud thud. Annoying pieces of growth cling onto my mask, making my face itch as they rub against my forehead. “Great..” I mutter under my breath as I stand up and brush the dirt from my feathers.

The plants heavily shade the thicket floor, making this a perfect hide-out to observe the Wind Rushers once they come here to hunt. I can faintly hear small rustlings as little creatures stir in the bushes. “Ugh,” I grimace, “they have so much prey to themselves!!!” I flick some dead leaves away with my battle claws, only to reveal a miniscule snake burrow. I roll my eyes as more delicious prey skitters around, going about their usual routine. Well, might as well eat something while I wait, I muse.

I gaze around and quietly stride over to a near-by boulder, ducking in behind it and waiting for a mouse or a shrew to cross my path. I peer up into the sky and let out a shaky breath. “Don’t worry Lucifer,” I breathe, “I won’t mess this up.” My heart beat quickens as I think about what might happen if i fail my task. Perhaps Lucifer will be kind and banish me from my realm, and spare my life. But no... he’s not one to grant favors. He’ll kill me after chasing me down. He’ll find pleasure in ripping my throat out. That’s what makes him such a powerful leader, pure ambition. I shake my head and crouch down even lower, waiting for a meal. Suddenly, a large plump mole scurries out of the thicket, it’s nose twitching as it moves around. I lick my beak as the tiny creature turns in the opposite direction and begins to munch on a fallen berry.

While it’s distracted, I leap into the air and land directly onto the mole with a silents thud, feeling it squirm beneath my talons. It let’s out a tiny peeping noise as I bring my free foot up and send it smashing down, crushing the mole instantly as it goes limp. I smile with pride as I clasp onto it and bring it up to my face. Blood gushes from it’s mouth as I place it into my beak and swallow it whole. My stomach thanks me with a loud gurgle as I shuffle back over to the boulder and await the Wing Rusher hunting patrol. It should be soon. But wait, what will my story be? Erm.. hmm.. “Lucifer has kicked me out of my realm for trying to save one of your soldiers.” No.. that’s stupid. Ehh, I’ll just wing it. Haha....... wing. Owl joke.
