RING!

The final bell of the day rung throughout the school corridors. The sound of kids running and lockers slamming echoed the hallways. Cody stayed in his last hour a little late to finish his social studies homework.

"You have any questions with that, Cody?"

"No, I think I'm all set. Thanks!" He returned.

"If only everyone else cared as much about my homework!" The teacher said with a laugh. "I'll see ya tomorrow pal," the teacher said.

"Okay," Cody said as he made his way to the door. Once he made it to the hallway he remembered―Mr. Hill had asked to see him after school.

Cody took a right turn and started to head to his locker. Once he opened it up, he put away his social studies stuff since he wouldn't need it and grabbed his science folder, along with the textbook. Once he had everything, he put his backpack on and closed his locker when he was met by eyes staring right back at him once the locker door was fully closed.

"D-Drew?" Cody asked, surprised.

"What's up Cody? I think I'm gonna make this quick today." Drew said. He grabbed Cody and forced him into the bathroom he once did so many weeks before. No one was in there. He held Cody by the sides of his shoulders, not on the wall this time.

"Do you wanna explain why Mr. Hill called be to his office today and asked if i've been hanging out with you? Drew asked, more like demanded.

"listen he called me in too, okay? someone m-must have told him; i never did." Cody offered.

"Mhm―Lets hope that's why. What do you got in your little backpack here loser?" Drew asked, as he grabbed it from him. He pulled out Cody's green folder.

"Science, huh? Let's see what the sink has to say about this," Drew uttered.

"d-drew no, please!"

"Shut up Martin!" Drew yelled. He took his right hand off of Cody and punched him in the eye. Cody fell to the ground.

"Let's hope your science teacher isn't too upset, at least not as much as you," Drew said as he put his folder under the sink and turned on the faucet.

Cody tried to get up and grab his folder back but Drew just shoved him away. After he left it there for about 20 seconds, he took it out and threw it at Cody.

"Let's go, Martin." Drew said.

He pulled Cody up by his shirt, grabbed his backpack, and took him back out to his locker, ending their encounter with a shove into the locker and emptying his backpack next to him. Drew walked out of the school as Cody slid down his locker and sat down. He held his head in his hands and began to cry, lightly.

There is nothing I can do for him to like me. Anything I do just makes him hate me more and more. At least he treats Zack like a brother; one day i'll be able to do the same..

Cody sat there by himself for 5 minutes before the gym doors flew open. It was Zack and Luke? They ran over to where Cody was sitting and stopped.

"C-Cody, what happened?" His brother asked him.

Cody looked up at the both of them. He stared for a second before speaking.

"Zack? Luke? What are you guys doing here?"

"We're here to help you Cody!" Zack said.

"What? I'm fine guys," Cody said.

"Cody, no you're not," chimed in Luke. "What happened to your eye?"

"And your science folder!" Zack added.

"It was an a-accident, that's all―I promise you guys," he said. Zack wasn't satisfied with that answer.

"Cody you're coming with us. Now." Zack said.

"w-what? where zack?" Cody asked. Zack looked at Luke.

"To the park; We're finding Mitchell to find out what happened at the grocery store that day―consider yourself lucky that Luke is keeping your wish granted Cody, but I will find out who is doing this to you―and they're gonna need crutches when I'm done with them." Zack said. Zack knew at that time it couldn't have been Luke―they were in the gym together when this happened.

Cody's stomach started doing backflips; his eyes scrunched up as he thought about what Drew would do to him―to all of them― if he found out that they knew it was him the whole time.

Zack helped his brother up  while Luke took Cody's folder to the science room; luckily his teacher was still here. He gave Cody's folder to him and informed him an accident has happened.

"No problem young man―I'll try my best to make copies of everything before they're completely soaked. Thank you."

"You got it," Luke said as he left and met back up with Zack and Cody.

"Let's go," Zack said.

* * *

When the three of them got to the park, they immediately went to the field looking for this so called 'Mitchell.' He wasn't where he previously met Cody.

"Should we check the woods?" Luke asked.

"i-i don't know guys," Cody said.

"It's okay, you're with us, Codes," Zack said. As they walked towards the trees, Luke spotted someone at the picnic tables. There were two people; and one of them looked like Mitchell.

"Guys, look," he said pointing. Zack and Cody looked near the tables.

"I think that's him," Luke continued. "I'm checking it out."

Luke walked over to the picnic tables; Zack and Cody followed. It was him for sure.

"Yo, Mitchell," Luke called out. "We have to talk." The three of them approached the table and they all sat down across from Mitch and the other high schooler.

"You guys again? What is it." Mitch asked. He looked at Zack and Cody. "Woah woah, there's two of you?"

"Yeah man. Now tell us what you saw that day at the grocery store," Zack demanded.

"I didn't see much, I only saw him on the ground," he said, pointing at Cody.

Luke grabbed Cody's face lightly with one hand and pointed to his eye with the other.

"Listen, if you know more than you're letting on, you need to tell us now; cause this kid right here, doesn't deserve it." Luke demanded. Zack allowed Luke to grab his brother.

Mitch looked around, as if he was checking if anyone was near by, then leaned in close.

"Listen, and listen good. I myself, didn't see anything besides him in the lot." Mitchell began. Cody looked down.

"However,  in ninth grade, news travels fast. Two weeks ago, there were rumors about a kid in braids that was wearing Jordan's that beat up a kid at the deli. I heard it was bad; he got pulled away from his bike and got attacked behind the store.; he was left there unconscious five minutes later." Mitch said. Zack looked furious.

"D-D-Did you just say the kid had braids? Zack asked.

"Yes."

"A-And Jordans?" Zack asked, like he was about to explode.

"Mhm."

Drew.

Zack turned to his brother, then back to everyone else.

"Me and my brother have to go have a talk―Now."
