Y/n's eyes shot open, and they quickly hissed in pain and closed their eyes again due to the blinding rays of the sun shining straight in their eyes. Surprised and disoriented, they couldn't help but let out a groan as they tried to adjust to the brightness around them. Slowly, they remembered what had happened the previous night and their heart rate picked up as they sat up, scanning their surroundings frantically for any sign of danger.

When Y/n finally realized that there wasn't any danger looming over them and that they were completely safe, they let out a long sigh of relief - a sigh that almost seemed to release all the tension from their body. They closed their eyes and basked in the calmness of the moment, feeling the subtle breeze brushing against their skin while the sun's warmth washed over their face, creating a serene atmosphere that was both peaceful and rejuvenating. As Y/n stood there, everything else seemed to fade into the background, and all Y/n could focus on was the tranquility of that one moment, which felt like an eternity.

. Suddenly, your heart sank as you came to a realization that you were going to be late for class. The distant ringing of the school bell grew louder and more urgent in your ears with every passing second, pushing you to run even faster through the park. As you saw your school building appearing in the distance, you started to sprint with all your might, determined to make it in time. Your heart was pounding against your chest as you finally arrived, gasping for breath, yet relieved that you made it just in time for class.

~-------~

You came to a sudden halt in front of the school, your chest heaving as you gasped for oxygen. Bitterly cursing yourself for your lack of endurance, you begrudgingly trudged through the uninspiring concrete building.

The front entrance of the school was a spacious rectangular room that bifurcated into two hallways - one to the right of the colossal doors that served as the main entrance and another leading straight ahead. Adjacent to the large foyer was a petite yet vital chamber to the left, also known as the front office. The flooring of the school was covered by a dingy and ubiquitous mud-brown carpet that had intermittent dashes of lighter hues like yellow speckled throughout.

The walls were painted in a soft shade of light yellow, giving the hallway a warm and welcoming feel. However, as you make your way down the right side of the corridor from the entrance, you are greeted by a row of dark turquoise lockers lining the walls. Although their bold color provides a striking contrast to the otherwise muted surroundings, it gives off a slightly grungy vibe, making the school sound less than inviting. You grumbled under your breath, feeling exhausted and frustrated, as you glanced up at the clock that lay above the front office's front door. The clock read '10:00AM' with the seconds' hand barely surpassing the 4, indicating that the daily classes had started long ago.

"Oh shi-" you muttered under your breath as you realized you were running late for school. As you hurried down the hallway, you were suddenly cut off by the front office lady calling your name. "Y/n! Why are you late? Are you okay?" she asked, looking concerned. You took a deep breath and tried to compose yourself as you walked into the office. "Yes, Ms. Mclinkin, I'm alright," you said with a small smile, hoping to put her at ease.

Everyone in the school, also called hell, could attest that Ms. Mclinkin, or fondly called Ms. Kin, was the only person who genuinely cared about them. She had a nurturing persona that reminded you of your own mother, only she was just a bit nicer, which made her the students' second mother figure.

With a sense of relief, she uttered "Thank god" followed by a deep sigh. You couldn't contain your gratitude towards Ms. Kin who, after listening to your predicament, exclaimed, "I'll write you a pass so you can head to class." Grateful, you eagerly nodded while expressing your appreciation, "Thank you Ms. Kin." Without wasting another moment, she eagerly grabbed her small notepad and promptly began scribbling a pass for you. Handing it over to you, she looked at you with a warm smile. You quickly grabbed the pass and thanked her once again for her kindness before bidding her farewell and heading off to math class.

You were standing in the entrance of the Mathematics classroom, your ears getting reprimanded by your stern teacher, Mr. Johnson. The tone in his voice was authoritative and cold, and he blurted out those dreaded words, "You have detention." His angry gaze drilled into you as he finished his sentence. Not wanting to give him the satisfaction of knowing he had gotten to you, you merely shrugged him off and gave him a passive nod. Then, you made your way to your designated spot, which was not too far nor too close to the front or the back - but right in the center of the middle row.

You frantically reached for your dark blue notebook and began hastily scribbling down the notes that the teacher had written on the whiteboard. The teacher was expounding on the lesson and had already jotted down a lot more information by the time you had caught up with the notes that were already there before you arrived.

As you sighed, feeling drained and troubled, you couldn't help but glance outside the massive window that overlooked the woods. It was then that your eyes caught sight of the mysterious figure lurking behind the thick foliage of a nearby tree. The being seemed to be shrouded in darkness, except for the vivid teal eye that glimmered in the sunlight and locked onto your own. Despite the distance, you could make out the four massive tentacles that extended from its back.

Your heart raced as your mind raced with thoughts of the potential horrors lurking just beyond your reach. What mysterious entity was looming in the shadows, observing your every move, and what was its purpose? As you anxiously considered the possibilities, a chill ran down your spine, causing you to wonder if the worst was yet to come.

The lights that had previously illuminated the room suddenly plunged the space into an inky blackness, and there was a collective moment of silence that filled the room. But the silence was short-lived as blood curdling screams began to fill the air. The screaming seemed to be coming from everywhere, and the pitch and volume were heart-stopping. As if in a daze, you looked around frantically to try and locate the source of the commotion. Your eyes finally adjusted to the dark, and the gruesome sight that awaited you was beyond anything you could have imagined. The room was covered in blood, and multiple students, including the teacher, were laying on the ground, their blood pooling on the floor. The wounds that inflicted them appeared to be grotesque, exposing their intestines and bones. But amidst this gruesome scene, some students were trying to escape. They were huddled by the door, frantically trying to turn the handle and leave the horrific chaos behind them. As the adrenaline began to kick in, you found yourself standing up, scanning the tree outside once more, only to see that the creature was nowhere to be found – it had vanished into thin air.
