Chapter 2

{A.N} CW: brief symptoms of a panic attack

~Leon's P.O.V~

Did you guys decide on where you wanted to get lunch?" Gina instantly answered "Yeah we wanted to get McDonald's" I noticed Jax seemed a little panicked and I followed him back to our seats "are you okay?" I asked when we sat down, Gina and Ali were still talking to Parker. "Yeah I'm fine it's just a lot of information you know?" I didn't really believe him. He's obviously panicked about something.. "Okay if you say so-" Just then the girls came back and sat in their seats and the bus started moving again.
When we got to the restaurant, we had to park a little far away so it was a short walk to the actual restaurant. When we entered the building, Parker asked for our orders and told us to go find seats. We choose a corner booth.
Parker came to find us with two trays of food not too long later. We were sat talking all, well except Jax who had gone quiet since I asked him if he was okay, were talking. I think Parker noticed Jax's panic or just how quiet they were. After they sat the food down and passed it out they asked to talk to Jax alone and pulled them out of ear shot. I ate my lunch anxiously and watched as the girls seemed perfectly fine, eating and talking like normal. I chipped in every here and then and tried to keep an eye on Parker and Jax.
After I finished eating I went to go throw my trash away and noticed Parker and Jax were gone, I checked to make sure Ali an G were fine before going to look for them. I found them in the bathroom, Parker on the floor and Jax cuddled into him seemingly crying "What the fuck happened-" I said extremely worried. Jax stumbled off of Parker "Nothing, nothing happened it's not what it looked like I just-" I hugged him "Why did you lie to me?" I asked, Parker stood up. "I don't know, it's just- I was scared I guess?" Jax said squeezing me a little bit. "is it about the thing, we can check the school out for a while and if its-" Jax interrupted me before, "No you idiot, I said it's not what you think."
We went back to the table, and the girls had finished eating they looked a little scared, "Where were you guys?! You just left without saying anything, I thought you left us!" G said hugging me and Jax. "We just went to the restroom sorry to scare you guys" Parker said begining to clean up the table, Me and Jax climbed into our seats and he started eating. Parker finished their food fairly quickly. "Okay I know this is going to be a little odd and it might be a little scary as this is all really new, but its going to be okay. Nobody's going to force you to do anything you don't want to, let me know if someone does and I'll take care of it. They might push you and try to get you do something thats a little out of your comfort zone, but that's all. Now because you've all been so good I wanna make a quick stop before we start heading to the school again, is that okay?"
Parker brought us to a store, not very far from where we parked so we walked. He had us hold hands when we crossed the road which was a bit odd but not really considering what we had been talking about and it's not like we haven't held hands before. When we walked into the store we were bombarded with faint lofi music, and the smell of vanilla and baby powder?? "Where are we?" I asked looking around, it seemed like a normal thrift shop minus the smell, "A store, come on this isn't the part I wanted to show you" He led us down a flight of stairs into a basement. Pastel colors and oversized baby stuff was everywhere.."What the fuck-?" Ali muttered. "I know this is a bit weird but I just want you to have a couple things, you don't have to use them if you really don't want to, don't worry." I continued to look around dumbstruck, what could they be talking about there's so much, this is so weird. "Easy thing first, just a stuffed toy, pick out whichever one you want" I looked around at the collection of stuffed things, a fluffy white bunny caught my eye. I guess Parker must've noticed me staring at it as they picked it up and asked if it's what I wanted, I just nodded. They had that bunny, some sort of black and red demon looking thing, a orange cat, and a brown bear with a blue ribbon in their hands. "This next thing might be a bit weird to you but remember you don't have to use it just choose one you think looks pretty." He led us into a isle of different sippy cups and baby bottles with slightly bigger nipples- I saw this really cute baby blue bottle with a rhinestones and gems on it and the words "Sleepy boy" and a picture of a blue baby sleeping in a moon...do I really like that? there's no way I do. I tried to find a sippy cup that was similar cause at least it's not a bottle but I couldn't find one. I went back to the bottle and reluctantly picked it up and brought it to Parker, they smiled and told me I made a great choice. This weird warm fuzzy feeling started to wave over me when they did that, but I stopped it and ignored it, muttering a soft thank you and looked over what everyone else had got. I noticed they were all holding their things and I wanted to hold mine too but I had already given them to Parker and it felt weird to ask for them back. "One more thing then we can go." We walked over to multiple isles with displays and displays of oversized pacifiers. I was really iffy about even just looking at them but everyone else was and I decided it couldn't hurt to just look, so I did..I looked and looked and looked and looked but I didn't really like any of them. I noticed everyone had already chosen one and I felt a little bad still not liking any. And then I saw one. A white pacifier with white rhinestones and gems, it had white ears on it and wording that said "Baby Bun" it was so pretty, I chose it and brought it to Parker too. He brought all of our things to the counter to pay for them.
When we got back to bus, Parker gave all of us the things from the store. "Here you go kiddos..I just noticed I forgot to do introductions-" They paused and moved to look at all of us. "Hello, I'm Parker and I use He/They pronouns" we all looked at him a little baffled and sat in that silence for awhile, "Uhm I'm Gina, I use She/Her pronouns" G said sorta sheepishly, "I'm Allison but you can call me Ali if you want, I use They/She pronouns." Jax looked at me, telling me to go next, "I'm Leon and I use They/He pronouns I guess?" Jax sat in silence as Parker moved to the front of the bus, sitting in the drivers seat "Thank you kiddos, We should probably get going if we don't want to have to sleep in the bus" and with that, that situation was thankfully over.. wait what just happened.
We spent the next few hours keeping to ourselves, mostly just on our phones or looking out the window. I eventually looked over at Jax, he was in a ball by the window wrapped around the black and red demon thing from the store, he looked kind of cute? wait huh, "Uhm Jax, are you okay-?" he looked up at me his eyes seemed to be filled with innocence, he just nodded and went back to curling up, "Just sleepy" that was a good enough answer for me so I decided to walk up to the front and sat in the seat nearest to Parker. "Hello?" He visibly jumped at my voice, "Goodness kiddo don't sneak up on me like that." I mumbled a sorry and he continued "Hey you know shouldn't be walking around when the bus is moving, It's one of the rules and you agreed you knew 'em" I mumbled through my words "sorry, I didn't mean to break the rules..I just wanted to talk to you" He seemed to tense a little and think something over before replying "It's okay Leon just try not to do it again, and what do you wanna talk about" I picked at my thumbs for a moment trying to figure exactly how I could word this, "Uhm well, I was thinking about the age regression thingy..and I uh" I stopped talking, refusing to finish the thought. Theres no way people actually use this baby thing and it helps them in anyway thats just stupid and ridiculous. "Do you want to try and see if you can go into headspace?" Parker interrupted my mental rant, "I- no I don't think so" I said with as much conviction as I could muster, which was probably a pathetic amount. "Okay, are you sure that's not what you came up here for?" I couldn't bring myself to respond, eventually I shook my head. "Okay give me just a moment" Parker said as he focused on the road a bit more. He took an exit off the road and pulled into some sort of rest stop area. Ali and G noticed we stopped and walked up to the front seemingly confused. "I figured it was about time for a potty break" Parker said simply leading the girls off the bus and towards the restrooms. I didn't need or want to go so I stayed ons the bus, I went to the back and found Jax sound asleep, his thumb in his mouth and curled around the stuffed toy he got. I noticed his thumb and questioned how he could just allow his no doubtdly dirty fingers even near his mouth. So as the amazing friend I am I gently removed his thumb so he wouldn't have some weird bus germs in his mouth. Wrong move, almost instantly he began crying in his sleep and whimpering. Oh God what do I do... I started to pet his hair and told him it was okay and he didn't need to be upset, but he was asleep and not listening, he kept trying to put is thumb back in his mouth but I can't just let him make himself sick in such a stupid way. Just them Parker came back onto the bus, he must've heard the whimpers and my desperate attempts to console Jax. He rushed to the back of the bus and moved between me and Jax..I don't know where he got it but he pulled out a black and red pacifier wiping it off with a wipe I also have no idea how he got and plopped the binky into Jax's mouth. The crying and whimpering stopped, being replaced with a slight suckling sound. I'm so confused on what just happened, why was he crying did I do something wrong? Did I hurt him. I've never seen Jax cry. I must've hurt him right? I could feel my breathing go ragged and my thoughts continue to spiral out of control. "Hey hey, it's okay, copy my breaths. In and out. In and out, good job just like that. In and out. In and out" I was somehow in Parkers lap, clutching onto their shirt. They were rubbing my back and rocking back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and- I felt that fuzzy warm feeling start to creep back and slowly take over my mind, making everything go blank.
