I pressed send on the message to Saint, letting her know I got home alright. I took my keys out and unlocked the door, ready to be inside the silence and comfort of the fortress known at my bedroom. I'd had enough of the outside word. I was disgusted at the thought of stepping outside again to go to school. I could just skip..... but then who'd take the kids to school? Who'd take Donna? Exactly. I'll be there like usual, bright and early but hating every second.
I pushed the door open and made my way inside, kicking off my shoes and neatly putting them by the door. I locked the door and immediately headed for the steps.
"Thalia could you come in here please?"
I froze and sighed heavily, my shoulders sinking in complete disappointment. I loved the chats with my mother but right now- I just didn't feel like socializing anymore.
However I still headed to the dining room and stood in the archway. Lake and my parents sat there. My parents on one side, Lake at the other with her eyes glued to the table.
"Hey, sorry I haven't been home really but I'm really tired. Can we talk later?" I said already stepping back, knowing the answer. However I was mistaken.
"No. Sit down."
I frowned staring at my father. Yes, my father told me to sit down. He sounded serious. The man didn't say much but I still knew when he was serious or upset about something. My eyes flickered to my mother who was already looking at me. She nodded and pointed to the chair next to Lake.
I sighed as I walked to the chair. I let my book bag fall off my shoulder, putting my things down by the leg of the chair. I sat down and locked my hands together in my lap as I slouched in the chair.
"So?" I said as my eyes flickered back and forth between them.
"We know about the party and we know about the fight." My mother said.
"Shit." I hissed under my breath. My jaw clenching as I looked at Lake out the corner of my eyes. "You little brat, you sold me out." I said angrily.
Her head snapped to me, eyes wide with panic and guilt. "N-no! I- I mean I had to! I was at dinner when I saw the video and it looked really bad. I just wanted to make sure you were okay!" She said in defense
I stood up fast making the chair screech and scratch against the hard wood floor harshly. "Bullshit. You were pissed because you couldn't go. So you rat on me to mom and dad."
My mom spoke up. "Thalia, relax, this not about-"
"I'm done." I grabbed my bag and moved to leave but the moment I stepped towards the archway my dad was up and out his chair. His threatening eyes glowering into mine as he stepped closer to me. I clenched my jaw, my heart thumping heavily in my chest.
"Sit." He said calmly, a slight tremor to his voice that I knew was anger. I didn't move. He correctly took that as a challenge.
"Thalia you sit down right fucking now if you know what's good for you."
I stared into his eyes a second longer before I looked away, sitting back down, swallowing the spit in my mouth. Trying to control my anger.
He stepped back as he took a deep breath, pushing his hair back as he gathered himself. Pacing for a moment before he stopped. He put his hands on his hips.
"Is that the first time you've acted on your anger like that?" He asked.
I scoffed. "I was drunk. Things happens. I'm sorry-"
"Just answer the question." My dad cut me off.
"Yes." I answered tensely.
"Is this the first time you've felt angry like that?" He asked next.
