Back to the inn after a whole day of shopping both Hagrid and Katerina were barely able to carry all of their belongings back inside "I'm so glad this is the last time I'm doing this" Katerina sighed in relief "I thought you two would rather enjoy it" snapping her head upwards a smile spread upon her face at the sight of her grandfather "Albus" dropping her many bags Katerina sprinted up the stairs.
Wrapping her arms around his torso she almost knocked him to the ground "what are you doing here?" she asked in amazement, she hadn't expected to see him that day and not for months for that matter "I wasn't going to miss my granddaughters send off for nothing in the world!" Dumbledore spoke, smiling up at him Katerina pecked both of his cheeks "you didn't have to, you have your own school to take care of" she tried to reason only to have Albus Dumbledore shake his head no "nonsense, now let's have dinner we have much to speak of, Hagrid please join us".
Following Dumbledore to the lavish restaurant within the hotel, Katerina watched as her belongings were magically carried away to her room.
Taking a seat on one of the many tables both Dumbledore and Katerina set on to enjoy a lavish meal with Hagrid "Katerina as you are all aware I will not be able to celebrate your birthday with you next week" nodding her head quite grimly she proceeded to play with her food. She knew that it was impossible for him to spend her birthday with her, it always had been, both of them had too many responsibilities so there was never time to properly celebrate her birthday "and that's the reason why I have purchased you an early gift" taking out a small wooden crate from underneath the table Dumbledore smiled as Katerina tilted her head in curiosity.
Taking hold of the crate her eyes immediately morphed into dragon ones, there was something inside that triggered her dragon instincts. Ripping the cap off quite eagerly she gasped at the crate's contents "A Norwegian Ridgeback" she whispered softly as she caressed the small creature. The two familiars stared at each other, it was a known fact that a Dramir with a dragon was an unstoppable force, but one that was soul bonded to the creature was indestructible.
"Hello" she cooed, her soft voice causing the dragon to snap his head up in her direction and stare at her in wonder. Dumbledore watched the two of them interact, despite there being a familiar bond tying them together, the young witch and the dragon were not soul-bonded as Dumbledore had hoped. Offering her hand to the creature Katerina smiled as it slowly crawled up her arm, its sharp claws leaving a small trail of claw marks.
"The gift was Hagrid's idea, he knew that a new friend a new friend could come in handy for you" beaming at both Hagrid and Dumbledore she placed the small dragon on the table before tackling both of them in a tight embrace. She knew she was so lucky to have them as a family, the reason for this was because Katerina knew very well that she could have easily been left poor and destitute on the streets, after her father's arrest, she could have died but instead she was taken in and cared for by people who understood that her father's sins were not hers.
Returning to her seat Katerina summoned a small fireball onto her palm. The small creature was immediately intrigued by the heat, its small crimson eyes turning brighter at the sight of the flame. Chuckling down at the small creature she continued to play with it "such a tiny thing it is" Hagrid cooed, a sad look flooded his eyes as he stared at the small creature "I know, so adorable" Katerina agreed to scratch its tiny head before she then placed the small creature on her shoulder "I think I'm gonna name you Marfil" Katerina whispered. Chirping in agreement a grin formed on her face.
"I think it is time for us to head back to bed, Katerina I have been informed by Karkaroff that the ship is leaving tomorrow" nodding her head she kissed both Hagrid and Dumbledore goodnight before heading upstairs.
With Marfil perched upon her shoulder, Katerina threw herself upon her bed, outraged by her actions Marfil bit Katerina as for she nearly squashed her down "ouch!" she chuckled. Morphing her own eyes into dragon ones Katerina threw a small fireball at Marfil's head "that's for biting me" she chuckled.
